Weird! Did you do a rollback for some reason Wonderloss? Nope you didn't, but somehow the turn is back on 47... We'll get to the bottom of this eventually I suppose. It matters not at all to Ulm, but I would guess some of you in the thick of fighting may or may not like the random roll back.

Naughty Naughty... Dispelling my so helpful spell, it makes everyone's taxes higher! And if you think I don't know who did it, think again. If the party is willing to repay the cost of my spell (less his dispel cost, Ulm is ever fair) then I will say nothing more. If not, then the answer becomes clear. NaP broken? It is an offensive action taken against Ulm, and thinking that you can hide behi

A fancy ring? Ulm can only dream of fancy rings. Unless you want a ring of tamed lightning? No? Ring of regeneration? Not that either? Slave collar? Err... well probably not, but Joe does fancy some odd bedroom behavior... or so our spies tell us... Ulms ability to forge fancy rings is woefully inadequate. Oh kind and wonderful Joe, please tell us more of this ring, and how we might acquire one?

Actually the DC bit is a deal breaker for me, so I won't get the game. The AH stuff is irrelevant as far as I am concerned, but maybe you're right and the two are connected.

Ulm wonders why so many nations engage in warfare and petty squabbles over which pretender has a larger 'unit' (Smurfette is in the running). All Ulm seeks is to turn the world into a fertile paradise where health and happiness are equally available to one and all. So long as they bow their head to the Wise and Benevolent Shadow Noob. Who died and was brought back, at least once, though really, at this point, we're not sure how many times it'

Entirely irrelevant to me, since I don't see me ever using it, but I've got nothing against it. As others have noted, seems a blindingly obvious add for Blizzard to squeeze some extra money out of the game throughout it's lifespan. So Kudos to them! I guess I would only object if the players who didn't want to interact with the feature were somehow forced to interact with it, but that doesn't seem to be the case here.

AM protected you from extreme damage anyway, though you could sort of game that as well. The case where you wake up 'dead' is mostly left to situations where you left too many counters available on you, or you were in a faction (guild? I forget) which was at war. The solution was to play on the solo server. Maybe still is the solution. I dunno. I kinda agree with Heavenfall about the way combat is handled, but not 1

[quote who="Tridus" reply="26" id="2977812"] If the tech tree is complicated enough, some amount of scrolling will be necessary because it's impossible to fit everything on one screen at once. But being able to horizontal scroll to see farther ahead isn't the same thing as needing to scroll this stupid circular thing around (or apparently zoom it out, which I didn't even know you could do becuase it's not at all obvious from the screen that you can do that) in order

To each their own. I don't find it any less easy to use than the tech tree in Civ4. Can you give me an example of a complex and robust tech tree which 'does it right'? You can't use any of the MoOs, they are neither complex nor robust. I wouldn't really accept GalCiv either, because if my memory serves me, there was a lot of scrolling to be done there as well. But I get the feeling that this i

I don't get the dislike of the UI on the research tree. It is zoomable you realize. That and it's not a huge pile of many worthless techs you need to research to get to a good tech. Depending on how you set econ/research, you will only bother on a few areas of it anyway, until you have either lost, or built your empire to a size where you're not as concerned about the next tech anyway. I mean I loved MoO an

If you get as many as 4 just play a smaller map. Really to get your feet wet in MP you don't need to be dealing with the larger games anyway.

I imagine you'll get some takers. I'd volunteer, but I'm already in 3 games, and that's more than enough for the moment, and I'm not really that noobular anyway :) Though I kinda think the 'noob' game is a tad unrealistic. Anyway, pick a nation you really want to play, drill them 100x in SP, even if just for 20 turns or so each time to figure out a sound opening game. Play a few of those games deeper (

Gotta love all the politicking :) Oh, it does no one any good of course, just like in real life (wait, this isn't real life? I have to ask Tim about that). For the record Ulm has nap3s with everyone other than C'tis, but shares no border with C'tis. Ulm is weighing it's options carefully, what, being an utterly useless military power, and having no beef with anyone either. Yeah, that's not quire a giant 'K

Meh, I got hit with 5 or 6 unrest events at my capitol in the first year! Including one turn where the unrest kicked over 100 and I couldn't buy anything. This with a luck scale (though also turmoil). Weird stuff happens, like my pretender getting splatted by an elephant in spite of the odds being so highly against it. Like the elephants refusing to rout even with the fear aura my pretender was pumping out. It evens out, sort

Well as you were the initiator of this game Tophat I'm sorry the outcome has not been more positive for you, but you learn from mistakes, or just from someone who does something better. Hopefully everyone will be back in another game at some point. No one has publically dropped the latest bomb have they? I assume PMs are burning (punny, if they're from Aby) though, I know mine have been :) I'd do a &#

Fatigue is reduced by having more spell levels than the spell requires and or by using extra gems (if it has a gem cost) to cast it. Oh, and communions. Once you go past 200 fatigue you start taking real HP damage though, and die :)
