Actually the games are WEGO as opposed to IGOUGO I thought. But maybe not the case in this one. At least Rise of Prussia is WEGO I'm pretty sure. Still turnbased though obviously...
No one said there is only one way to do things, but we should not simple ignore significant problems because we might be able to inflate another finite resource. People are not "concerned" with coal, because there is currently something like 150 years worth of proven coal deposits in the world. While this sounds like a significant amount of coal, people should be very concerned about coal production. Like oil, it is a finite resources and will
Enjoying the banter guys keep it up! Though just how small is this map you all are playing on? Or are there just a few close starting positions??
Lol... This just popped into my inbox...
Hi All: On May 5/23 and Tuesday 5/24 I will be hosting three visitors from The University of Alberta: Profs. Jacob Masliyah, Zhenghe Xu, and Subir Bhattacharjee. They constitute a world renowned research group in the area of Oil Sands processing. They are engaged in multiscale, multidisciplinary research aiming at increasing the efficiency while reducing th
Let's talk about two alternatives thrown around a lot in recent times, solar panels and bio-diesel. Both of these technologies have been touted as future replacements of oil for our energy needs, yet one does not simply move investments from oil into these alternative energy sources.
One doesn't? Why the hell not? Maybe you meant 'quickly' or something, but sheesh, how did we win
Well you pessimists. What are you doing about it besides whining on internet forums? Facts are no one knows what the future may hold. No one knows what the next (or last) technological breakthrough will yield. Oh sure, eventually we will run out of 'magical inventions' to save us from ourselves, but people have been bleating doom and gloom for ever. Literally. Question remains, if you really believe
I did use BMans mod. The increase in customization at start up (well i guess some things you can switch ingame too) was outstanding. Though at some point it became a slog anyway. Too many UFOs, too many terror missions, too many... Crank through it and get to earth though, worthwhile, just... well XCom had the same issues I guess.
I played the first UFO ET quite a bit, it was excellent in many ways (though got repetitive with certain missions, but that's kind of an artifact of these games anyway). I'm interested in the 2nd as well, but we'll see how they improved it.
Yeah, I've been following this game for what seems like a year! Good to see it progressing to what looks like a solid final product.
Well it's rare that a Dom3 game is ever actually 'won'. At some point the remaining nations decide to stop playing because the outcome is clear. Of course diplomacy is the problem, because the pretenders are really not supposed to ever relegate themselves to 2nd class, but since we are humans, we're used to relegating ourselves to 2nd class ;)
Yeah EA Ulm though has fun magic compared to MA. LA Ulm is awesome fun with the vampires though. Death and Blood, fun little combo there :) Hinnom is a solid nation as well, but if you wanted giants... well, Niefel is still tops. Anyway, I hope you have fun with it, the more RPish you all are the better, but you know someone is going to be the turd in the punch bowl and actually try to win ;)
I have already sent my picks, sorry for not responding faster. But, isn't this supposed to be a n00b game? I see a lot of technical talk about SC rush, sacreds, etc. As true n00bs, you should pick units and pretenders according to how much like their pictures. You should roleplay as much as possible, not caring much about losses and wins. And most importantly - you absolutely have to make obvious blunders! That, and much more I expect
Well good then! Plenty of ground to cover with any nation, some are harder to make work than others though. Best of luck to everyone!
Eh, a sacred Jarl rush is both boring and bad form for a newb game.
Not if you're a noob doing it??? I mean the entire premise of a SC based nation is a necessary step on the learning curve. Oh, others can do it too, but no one can do it as fast as the giants can. Look I agree, if I snuck into this game and laid some smackdown on people it would be pointless and n
Soooo... Out of curiosity how many people had Niefel listed #1? Unless they got hit with some kind of nerf since I last played, Jarls running amok, even without equipment... well just research personal quickness and slaughter everyone and everything :)
Just how closely are they going to actually follow the books though? Spoilers be damned... some of those actors must have signed short contracts... ;)
Heh... Well I don't think it's *that* complicated, but like with most things, you do need to know the rules before you can play. Games have gotten so dumbed down that most people (including me) are used to just firing them up and plowing through. I did provide a link to the official rules, as well as a link to a great page with lots of information on how the different races play, and what skills/player types are important to their su
So I imagine some of you play the cyanide version of the game, and some of you may even play the table top version of the game. But, here's a shout out to a nice little site called FUMBBL http://fumbbl.com/ It is a community which uses a pretty slick java client to play online games of BB. The site allows you to make as many teams as you want, in different divisions depending on wha
I'm really not sure what to think of this. While it's true I never used Impulse to actually buy anything (nor steam or GG or any other online distrib), I was looking forward to getting some tittles off of Impulse after I get my new comp this fall. Now??? Well I don't have any compelling reason to stick with Impulse as far as I can see. Hell no reason to stick with anyone at this point. Not like that matters to anyone,
While everyone clearly has their own preferences making it very difficult to objectively answer 'which is better' I will none the less, provide that objective answer which has so far eluded this thread. DW takes after MoO3 in it's macromanagement design philosophy (I think I just threw up in my mouth), GC2 is largely soulless and trivially easy to beat on any difficulty, and SotS has real 3D tactical space battles with lots of lasers which go 'pew pew
I applaud your initiative, and know that a similar petition worked for FNL, but I cannot agree that this show needs to be saved, so I cannot sign the petition (neither did I sign the FNL one). I suppose from the way it's phrased that it's not another show glorifying teen sex or vampires or whatever other stupidity they put on I could support it just for being different, but if Heros couldn't make it (and in my opinion Heros was vastly superior to OF) then meh, what's the
I guess I'm just old and have learned my lessons, but, patience is a virtue. Come on... having to wait a couple days? Sheesh, you youngins... Ok, Months I can see, but I imagine there's different reasons, like translations, for why that happens. Just learn engligh though ;)
Quoting voodoochile123, reply 159I would never play multiplayer. I like my TBS games to take a very long time. My favourite AOW/AOW2 games have gone on for perhaps 10 hours or so, and I don't think that fits well with multiplayer. I would just use RTS type games for multiplayer. (and FPS's etc.) It fits well with PBEM (which Elementat does not support).
Well it fits if you want to break that 10 hours into
I'm in the same boat as you are parrot, but I'm still going to wait. Wait for FE and see what the reviews and issues are with that. I could jump in, and the price may be entirely justifiable, but meh, I know that FE is around the corner, so if I waited this long, I can wait a little bit more.
Quoting shadowtongue, reply 133I don't know, but I'm guessing there is some reason why just making 'MP like SP but with more humans' is more difficult than we think. Only if they designed the game in a way that makes it hard, which if they were planning to have MP and SP from the start (or even early in development) is a crappy idea.
Yes, well, apparently there were many crappy ideas involved...
