Reply to Sim Elemental? in WOM Mods
The only sim that keeps me interested is Dwarf Fortress, and its scope is quite different than your average sim.
Someone should remake Dwarf Fortress with Elemental. Now that's a version of Dwarf Fortress I'd like to play!!!

Look up tutorials on 3DSmaX my friend. It can do animations as well as make models. Check this out brother: http://designreform.net/2008/11/3ds-max-intro-to-animation/ Hope that helps a little.

Seeing this makes me realize just how easy it will be to make polymorph spells. Good stuff ;)

And that could at least potentially be attributed to the Editor that came with Civ III, where you could design your own units, buildings, maps, etc. Lies, all lies!!
Raven X: That sounds more like the built-in NWN map transition (at least how I'm reading your description). Nothing special there as far as game data saves - it just happened. I'm talking more about the persistent worlds that ran multiple interconnected servers. Some examples include Exaria (two servers), the Avlis and CoPaP servers (dozen or more...iirc) and ALFA (many servers). When a character transit
I'm curious about this too, because one thing I've wanted to do with some mod ideas in my head is create dungeons with an overworld map.
There is one way I can think to do it now, but, it's a slight trade off. Make the Map for the New Location a Tactical Map and assign that map to a specific spot on the world map. When the player steps on that spot they enter combat and when the tactical map loads up it can be the i

I should probably just have the two threads merged to avoid confusion.
On a related note, is it possible to have multiple maps as part of a game, and transition between those maps with game state saved between transitions? The concept is to have a set of maps linked, becoming a tapestry of maps that can be added and connected as needed. An approach familiar to those that have played on or developed multi-server persistent worlds for Neverwinter Nights.
I was a map maker on a NwN

Perhaps when those memory issues Frogboy mentions are smoothed over, but even on my 6Gigs of memory system it didn't last long. I'm trying a 12x12 right now and it seems fine. For some reason even when I assign the numbers in XML to be 12x12 it comes out to 14x14 in a

I was lucky enough to catch a few minutes of Frogboy's spare time this morning and he shared some Amazing info on how we can make Custom Map Sizes of ANY SIZE by defining it in XML. Seriously, how many other multinational CEO's do you know that will take the time out of their busy schedule to sit down and chat with a modder? None that I know of!!! Thanks a lot, Frogboy. Again you prove to us all who the best and hardest working CEO in the business really is ;) For all those itching to
Is that "possible" by or before release Frogster? Any info on map sizes would be awesome and much appreciated.
Yeap, it is :) I was just informed we can make our own custom map sizes in the XML. Thanks Frogboy :)
I can't wait to create my Greyhawk and Forgotten Realms maps.
You can start now if you'd like, my friend. We have the tools. The only thing holding me back from starting the Krynn map for the DL Mod is I'm waiting to see if we get a "Extra Large" map size. Is that "possible" by or before release Frogster? Any info on map sizes would be awesome and much appreciated. :)

I like me some Rage :) Some of their songs anyway. Others are a little too "rap sounding" for my tastes. The only Rap I like is OLD School, 80's stuff. Of course Rage isn't anywhere near classified as Rap, still, some of their songs I don't care for are rappish to my ears. They do have some really killer tunes too though.

Note: This is a copy of a post I made in the Misc. section of the forums. Thought I'd put it here too as a lot of Elelemental peeps don't seem to browse over to that section too often ;) Being entertained while working on a Mod is important. Especially if you're working alone and don't have a team behind you to help keep in high spirits and keep motivation up. I concentrate better when I have some good tunes going in the background. If I have a TV or Movie or something going it tends
the only part they didn't use from in-game (I bet) is where the Samurai actually "mounted!" the horses. Like, they went from dismount, to mount. I doubt that kind of stuff is in-game
Did you play Empire, Tas? There are some units that can mount and dismount in the middle of a battle, like Dragoons, so it's highly possible that's in game.

I plan on spending most of the day doing Mod work today and as such it's important to have a good sound-track to work by. Mostly I'll be doing photoshop work making some custom skins (expect pics in the modding section by the end of the day). Anyway, here's some music (in video form) from some of my favorite bands that I'll be jamming out to today. Enjoy :) Type O Negative: My Girlfriend's Girlfriend (one of the best videos EVER ;) ) <embed width="480" height="367" src="http:/
