This is a mod, at its core, with a very simple goal: huge empires, huge populations, and huge armies. Simply, the game will be rebalanced for a more dramatic and "epic" perspective of building a kingdom. Much larger populations numbering upwards of hundreds of thousands of souls. If the engine can handle it and my meager skills allow it, there will be the kind of armies that Elemental was going to have and should have had. That is, thousands.
We've got the same goals he
Balance the game for much, much higher populations and larger, more epic kingdom. An "average" kingdom should have more than a hundred thousand people, with larger kingdoms "the sky is the limit". The largest cities should range upwards of a hundred thousand people. Balance tactical battles for much higher numbers of troops. Hopefully thousands of troops, even if this requires a little abstraction. Alter many of the games tiles to reflect an even bigg
This item editor would be for creation of out-of-game resources that you can use in quests, research, whatever? I dunno, we'll have to see I guess.
Yes and no. Say I make a new skin and texture for basic Chain Mail. Now I want to see how my created Chain Mail Skin will look applied to the chain mail and worn by a soldier. If the "Unit Designer" was available to me without me having to get in game, I can fire up the designer
Well, there will be an item editor in the workshop, and since a "unit" is just a combination of your faction looks (also in the editor), and items, that should be all you need, no?
Possibly. I think the "Item Editor" is something they're holding off on though, something about their "Master Forge" or something that might not come along until an expansion. As long as units/soldier models are shown and I see what a skin or textu

Updated 7/29/2010 I'd also like to say a special "Thank You" again to those using the proper categories. Tonight's update was really easy for me to do as there were more labeled posts than non labeled posts. Well done everyone. Karma will be passed out accordingly ;) . Keep up the great work and keep those ideas flowing in :) !!!

While I would tend to agree that the amount of lower level spawns need to diminish as the game progresses, you also have to keep in mind that even mid to late game you'll be making or recruiting heroes that will start at level 1. How will you build them up with no lower level creatures or units for them to fight? You can always throw them in with more powerful units, but then you have to pray they stay alive long enough to even gain experience. So, tone down low level spawns? Yes.

Question, will the Unit Editor also be in the "Modding Section"? What I mean by that is will it be accessible from the "Title Screen" or "Modding Tools/Tool Set" part of the game as well as being accessible from the in game unit designer like it is now? Before anyone says it, No, I don't think this is redundant. As a skinner I'd like a quicker way to be able to see how my skins look on a model in the Game Engine without the need to run a full game, build a town, and then work my way u
Starkers..Starkers...Starkers....*shakes head* That King Arthur movie brings a bad name to Arthurian Legend. It's a good movie, but it has nothing to do with Arthurian Legend. All they did was steal the names of King Arthur and his knights and try to put a semi-realistic twist on it from a historical perspective. Totally ruins Arthurian Legend And this is coming from somebody who went to see that dribble which is "Twilight"?
Actually quality does factor into it. With this they can see what people liked and didn't like about their ideas for missions in the first campaign and they can build on that. They used what they learned in WoW: Burning Crusade to make Cataclysm leveling fantastic. That's not the entirety of it. All I'm saying is that it's not just one issue of money, quality does factor in.
Quality is completely s

I never bought any of the expansions for the first SC. When I finished it's storyline I called it "game over". I had no idea Kerrigan lived through the first one, much less the brood war. When I said: "If the Zerg and Protos campaigns are going to be "Expansions" then how can anyone expect them to have the length or depth of the Teran campaign at "expansion" prices?" ...I was actually going by You calling them "expansions". I was originally under the impression they we
Because they don't have to build the game before making the next two campaigns? Seriously Raven, that argument is just absurd. Are you next going to tell me that Elemental's expansion will have a smaller campaign that Elemental itself because it's cheaper? Expansions are cheaper to make (and cheaper to sell) because the whole game development phase is already done. It's just content. It's got nothing to do with campaign length. Brood War's cam
