I would gladly do that, Raven X, but I've no idea where the Ideas section is as it's not pinned. If you could reply in this post and please give me a link to the Ideas section, I'll make a reply there with my idea.
The Idea's section is part of the forums here. I keep a master list of all ideas posted that I update once a week or so. This makes it a little easier for the Devs to find our ideas by Type when they have t

Getting a Dev response is one thing, sure, but the CEO? That doesn't happen very much, if ever. For a lot of companies "Devs" are a dime a dozen. Imagine going on the WoW forums and having the CEO of Blizzard answering you. Not just a Dev, but the Owner of the company that all the Devs answer to. I don't see that happening in a million years. A lot of CEO's don't honestly take any interest in what their own companies make. They care about profit margins and moving units and making d
Watched Episode one and thought it was pretty Hollywood. Watched about 20 min of Ep. 2 and turned it off. The makeup, the music, the slo-mo, the bad cgi, and the fact that everyone is either a super model or a body builder really drains from this show. The sex is over done. We know they are having it don't need to show it. They have a good idea but they haven't done enough research. Watch Rome. Alot better and still has violence sex a
You know, I don't think I've ever, EVER, seen a comp AI use auto-resolve and come anywhere near as close or better then I can do on my own playing out the battle. That would be a very impressive accomplishment if you can pull it off, Frogster. Good luck.
Indeed, Itharus, that is good advice. I'm sorry to hear about your Transformers. I have a bunch of them buried somewhere. My prized one though, an original series 1 Optimus Prime, I gave to one of my best friends for his birthday about 7 or 8 years ago now. I didn't get around to looking it up until after I had given it away and apparently it's worth a butt load of cash too...lol. Hobbies can help and it's funny you should mention Warhammer painting as I've done that for some friends.
I definitely think this is the way to go Scott. Remember when you and I had that conversation about city tiles and spam and improvements? This is exactly what I was talking about, and by allowing the ability to get resources outside of the city proper fixes that perfectly. Well done. I like the governor system as well. The only addition I would make is to make sure it works without a governor as well but you get bonuses like you describe while using one. Well done brother. It'
Way to dig up info my friend, well done. [e digicons]k1[/e]
Of the Empire pictures I definitely prefer the last one, Kraxis (beautiful gold on his mantle and armour). But I do note that he looks (not just inspired by, but really looks) like an arab/persian, so I hope you are not putting this in as the one evil, "blood traitor" human race while the Kingdoms will be all filled with fairskinned blonds (of European/American looks ...). Skimming over the Kingdom pics it actually looks like this could be the c
RisingLegend, my friend, you know there's nothing good on a Mac [e digicons]XD[/e] hehe j/k For business they're great depending on what you're doing, but I'd never use one as a gaming rig.
I wasn't aware the world had a name yet. Whatever it is it should have been used in the video. I think I remember Frogboy saying something about the story videos being passed to another company though and it's possible if they were the ones who made the vid they didn't know what the name of the world was yet. *shrugs* I just think a name would sound better in some of the instances where she says Elemental. Then again I could just be being nit-picky. It doesn't sound bad the w
We moved to the place we're at a little over two years ago right after my wife and I got married. During the move I found out one of my favorite childhood toys had gotten broken. It was a old school Voltron toy. The Original 5 Lion Voltron, the old school Die Cast one. This one wasn't even released in the U.S. that I know of. Black Lion's legs got broke off inside of the Yellow and Blue Lions as I had it assembled. Apparently something heavy fell on the box it was in and it was on the to
That is a good question. Also, I was wondering about the tactical battles. Let's say you attack a city with 1 Legion, 3 Brigades and 5 Battalions. I suppose we won't see 1000 [legion] + 3x250 [brigades] + 5x50 [battalions] units on the battle screen in the same time. [Even tho it would be epic. ] So I suppose in this case 50 soldiers will be represented by 1 "unit" on the screen? [..or something like this. You got the picture.]
</
So I checked out the new video in the Media section. It's a awesome video and I'm guessing it might even be the official intro Vid. I like everything about it except one minor thing. A small thing really. The woman narrating says this... "In the last age of our world, the lands of Elemental were lush and filled with magic..." etc etc I could quote the whole thing and point out the other places where she says "Elemental". The thing here is a proper name is needed for
On the low end, I'm requiring that it be able to run on a netbook (1024x600). My Thinkpad X40 (5 year old laptop) will be a test box. Regarding 64-bit: You're really not missing out. It's just that we expect to have larger sized maps and more eye candy.
Quoting Raven X, reply 38 That's awesome. Go tell the Firaxis dudes to stop screwing off and get to work on that X-Com sequel. Firaxis is working on an x-com sequel? I knew 2K were rumoured to be working on something but I thought it was Irrational Games?
2k Games, which recently went back to being called "Irrational Games", also owns Firaxis or they're partners
The EMPIRE uses death magic. A Fallen race could be on the side of the Kingdom.
Really? So I can have a Non-Fallen Race play as a Empire faction or a Fallen race as you mention be part of the Kingdom factions? That will be awesome.
This idea has gotten a few mentions before but hasn't really gotten any traction. While it is a great idea, and would be fun, it really does narrow down your focus. Why run around with a couple folks, when you have 10,000 soldiers waiting outside the village and an empire with over a billion citizens waiting on your every command? Small scale is nice, but it doesn't really feel right.
Maybe for Dungeons or Towers or something t
I dunno. You guys have to realize, from our perspective, Firaxis are the good guys. It's a small industry and we're friends with these guys. Soren Johnson, at Firaxis at the time, is in the GalCiv II credits. He's not there but it gives you an idea of how close knit our group is. That's why it always pains us to see people taking sides. We're all on the same side. I realize people who aren't in the ind
Civ5 will be coming out this fall! I hope that doesn't cut into the success of Elemental. Maybe SD should slow things down and see what they're up against. You wanna make sure you can top Civ 5.
While I'm sure Civ 5 will be a good game in it's own right (Maybe), it still won't be anywhere near as bad ass as Elemental. The more important thing to ask about Civ 5 is if they'll fix a Woolly Mammoth beating a M1A1 Tank!!! That's what killed the

Excellent job rounding these up Landi. This should be stickied somewhere.
"Tolkien and Dragonlance" What?!?!? I don't see much resemblance and I'm the worlds biggest Dragonlance Fan and the worlds biggest Raistlin Fan. There isn't very much resemblance with Dragonlance, not even with the Dragons "ruling" over people. Lots of fantasy games go that route. I'm still waiting on my Draconians though [e digicons]:-"[/e] The new info is Awesome by the way, keep it coming.
Boogie has a interview from Pax 09 that's up on YouTube Here . It's entitled "Elemental War of Magic PAX 09 Reveal Interview HD" I know it may be a bit dated when compared to the current internal build, still I think it represents enough concept of what the game will be to deserve being put in the official "Media" section. The Demo Vid Frogboy did a while back should be put in there too I think. Just an idea
There’s a big Impulse announcement on Wednesday so we’re going to get bumped to the following Thursday. I guess we’ll just be that much more polished.
You're the CEO, can't you tell everyone to do both or is there not enough man power? I don't mind another week as time for more polish is a good thing, just curious though. Aside from man power maybe being an issue, what would one thing coming out have to do with the other?
