Looks awesome. Wish I had a key.
Download the pirated rip of the Demo :P . You won't be able to play multiplayer with it, but at least you'll get to play it.

Very cool. I'm actually a little excited for UFO: Extraterrestrials 2. Check out the site Here . I think it would be awesome if Stardock made a X-Com clone. I think they could do the original justice while adding their own spin on it. I'm also hoping Irrational and Firaxis will announce their respective X-Com projects some time this year.

I just finished downloading and playing through the first 3 levels of Supreme Commander 2. It's really awesome so far. Although I'm only 3 levels in I think I can give you all a good "heads up" on what to expect if you plan on picking this up. First off lets talk about the changes between the first game and this one. Graphics: 7 out of 10 When they made the first game, even though it got great reviews, some people knocked the game because of it's rather steep
Nice to see that people get new graphics cards every other year
Every other year? lol It would be nice if I had the money to build a new rig "every other year". Try every 4-5 years if I'm lucky. Putting down $500 = for a graphics card isn't always that easy. I plan on using my current card for at least another 2 years, maybe 3 depending on this economy.

So how come these Channelers aren't immortal like the Sovereigns are? This is going to lead a lot of people to want their Sov's to age and die and have heirs take over the throne like they do in this story :P , just saying... Very cool story though. I'd like to hear more about this Curgen.
Thank you Raven X, I hope your efforts are taken advantage of by the developers. Just a minor correction, you've listed my Crafting post under Gameplay and my Non-Random Events post under New Ideas and I think it should be the other way around.
You are most welcome. I listed those whee I did for two reasons. 1 Crafting post) There is/will be in game crafting. As such I thought it would go into

Are you building a lot of stuff in those towns at one time? Same thing happened to me in one of my games. As you cue up buildings the cost for them is added up and subtracted from your gold total. You'll notice as a building finishes your income will go back up. Check through your cities and see if you're building a lot at once. If so cancel those buildings and build the most important ones first one at a time and see if this helps.
Not really. If an enemy AI would like to invade one of your cities and it cannot reach it because of the terrain, it should simply alter the terrain. IE: Terrain is -1 = raise land. Terrain is +5 = lower land. It looks like a simple algorithm to me, even tho I don't know too much about programming...
Conceivably this would be the best option. In theory if the Sovereign has enough mana and knows the spells, being either AI

So I was testing out a quick game this afternoon and I did something I thought was kinda funny. As those playing the beta can tell you, we have a few spells straight out of old school Populous that lets us raise and lower land. The Blue nation declared war on me, even after exchanging children with me. Their son married into my family and my daughter went to them. When we went to war they started funneling troops at me in stacks of two. Instead of fighting all the incoming stacks as m

I know you haven't done it before seeing as how it's just a beta build, but, I'm wondering if there will be any "Hotfixes" for this build as some of the bugs are squashed? Since it may be a little while before the next build if the save-game bug is squashed in the next couple of days would you put up a hotfix for that or just wait and put the fix in the next build? Some of the bugs, though minor in the overall plan, are rather detrimental to being able to track down specific bugs. If

Glad I found this thread. I thought it was just me and one other person. *whew* It is true that testing for specific crashes will be much easier once save games work. There's a lot of fixes in the pipes I'm sure, this one should be near the top of the list of importance though. With all the new additions in this beta there's plenty of other stuff to test in the mean time :)

I can't load saved games either, no idea why. I checked where they are saved too and my game is called "Save 1". The whole name is save 1.EleSav . Every time I try to load a game it starts to load the map, I see the symbol and the name of the map, then it hits a black screen of death and CTD's. I tried un-installing the previous version, deleted all left over files and downloaded and re-installed. Still no dice, saved games won't load. ??? Running Win 7 64 Pro.

Excellent progress indeed, well done to the team. There's a lot of meat there to test. Already ran into a bug but I don't know if it's repeatable yet. The creators are great, good job so far. Will there be more customizations to the faces in later builds? Maybe stretching shaping of faces ala "DragonAge" or "Elder Scrolls" only maybe a little more basic. I think it would help make children and other characters look different. I understand the children being "clones" of the living same sex par

No. Is that going to be all the way through the beta process?
The only way (that I know of) to get the files needed to play the Beta is to download them through Impulse. I suppose it's possible for Stardock to host them on this site, but I don't see why t

FIXED: I think now that we KNOW they will allow players to grab resources without having to build a whole city where the resource is that "City Spam" will mostly take care of it's-self. What was the number one reason for deciding where to build your city? Because that's where the resources you wanted were. That's not as much of a factor now as you'll be able to grab that resource that's 4 or 5 tiles away from your city without having to build a new city that clo
You seem to want a SimRoad mini-game in Elemetal, I can do without it, though I don't much care if it is in it so long as I never have to play it.
Well, I don't want a SimRoad mini game, that I think would be boring :P What I do want is the freedom to be able to use my roads defensively. If I wanted to design choke points in my road system I could lead the enemy where I want them and only need to guard key p
Roads and building them are boring. Important (depending on the game mechanism for using them) but ultiamtely boring.
That is a Opinion, my friend. I for one do not find building roads boring. What building roads should be though, is fast. Maybe not the actual construction, but laying them out. It doesn't take me long to lay down a line from point A to point B. More importantly if I want to design my own road networ

Definitely a nice card. I'm going to stick with my year and a half old GTX280 until N'Vidia puts out a new "Top of the Line" though. N'Vidia and ATi always bounce back and forth between who's on top. N'Vidia's next one will trounce this one, ATi's one after that will trounce that one, etc etc. I stick with N'Vidia. You can't argue with the power of the new ATi card though. It's definitely the current king of the hill.
