Another question. I have win XP, and the basic programs. I use open office, etc. I'm a PC noob, as well. I want to make an outline (yes, just the province borders and the basic geographical features) map of the dom3 game i am in. I understand about map filters, etc. Cut and paste, etc. How would i go about getting a copy of a dom3 map, and get it into open office, so i can print it out, and make photo copies? I find the in game map nice, but con

Shadowtongue, are you saying that in your second game, some players are pretending to upload their pretenders? (couldn't resist... sorry)

Salt pork is very important in Elemental: War of Magic. Consider this transcript smuggled out of the enemy's secure lock box archive: ... Oh, my minister of defense just took the floor in Council. Being a somewhat forbearing SOV (not SOB), I permitted Dr Strangelove to speak about an item not on the agenda. The rising threat from the combined Fallen creatures was obviously not inflated. Doc was so emotional - but still clear witted, as

I learned to never trust a committee, or group (corp or otherwise) - only trust individuals who have earned your trust. Its your copyright - only if you protect it.

Bpalczewski; I am totally fine with letting all our pretenders get a nap while you are away... I would be happy to put the game on hold until you return, if everyone else also feels that way.

Ah, but starkers, you forget, the reason corporations aren't growing enough jobs in the US economy is because of 'intrusive' government regulations, onerous taxes, and far too few tax payer subsidized corporate subsidies. If Obama tried to increase regulation on the banksters, the Republicans, and too many (sadly to say) Democrats would have voted articles of impeachment on him. Clinton escaped. Obama might not have.

Salment: I agree with everything you wrote. One comment about the two worlds thing. i like it... it adds a 'wild card' of sorts in that a whole level of strategic and tactical considerations are added, that can be activated at various times and with a variety of consequences. I like the dark side graphics better, as well. One thing I would have loved to see was to actually have a number of these worlds with varied affects.

Ghostwes question; I have met only one player so far... and I hope we don't accidentally attack the same province. Two other sets of candles are on my radar, but whose candles they are is unknown at this time. I am happy Arco's pretender escaped. In the elementist game, my pretender got wacked on turn 3... so losing a pretender this early is nasty... BTW - I would love to know how several players have conquered so many provinces so quickly? </p

Lantros: May I ask: Sorta off thread - forgive me.. but you have actually played skyrim? I played Mirrowind, loved it. Oblivion ((BTW... just watched an old episode of Sanctuary - sci fi - where the doc and tesla - the vampire - go explore an ancient tomb- reawaken the queen of the vamps.. and saw that the oblivion language was the typeface used on the monuments!)) anyway, oblivion was OK, but spent most of my time with mods... most recently the p

Another question. OT the server there is a set of statistics for our game. Does the set referring to research mean 1) total research accumulated this game, or 2) research done in previous turn? if its just last turn's research - its scary ...

Unfortunately, the likely result of 'hacks' like this one will likely also be to further erode some of the traditional (constitutional) rights of law abiding citizens as authorities strive to protect themselves. These hackers aren't helping their cause, they are taking hostage (metaphor) the families of police, and they push government to seek more tools to deal with them. A free society suffers the consequences.

Why didn't SD take all the 'improvements' of galciv II and galciv III and incorporate them into GalCivI? Is basically same question as initial post of this thread, yes?

OOC May I kindly request a 24 extension for this move (turn 4) as my interent is temporally down. I am arrainging a temporary workaround. I can do the turns via someone else's PC for a few days, should have permission, if I use a flash drive to transport the turn files back and forth. It will take a day to set it up. (I late afternoon tomorrow - Friday). EDIT: BTW, the server says the next turn is due by july 19th.&

One thing to try, is to use a hair dryer, on low heat setting, and 'breeze' the phone overnight, in a place where the phone is open to the air. Then do the rice imersion technique. I have recovered a number of cell phones this way... (However, I have never owned an i-phone, so...).
