Very thought provoking post. Its difficult to think about getting 'cyber malware spreaders, and cyber hackers reigned in because of national boundaries, etc. Its more difficult to get, as you suggested, the entities (CEO's on down) to do anything truly awesome related to cyber security, IF they are not responsible for breaches. The hold harmless type clauses that are ubiquitous in on the web guarantee they are 'not responsible.' Yes, pull your plug, don

Ok, first, are you running windows 7? If you are, install in ANY directory EXCEPT 'program files.' Need special permission (Administrator access) for that file, and can be a pain. If you must use 'program flies,' than be sure you have set yourself with appropriate permissions from whereever you are acccessing your PC. This might help... I'm a newby.. and a lot of people are away for the 4th holiday. Hope it helps....

Thanks for the caution. As always, I'm happy for the advice from people in the know. I havn't updated... (whew) ...but for a different reason. Distant Worlds was a bear to install and get running. I found I had to run a NET cleaning tool. After that, DW runs fine. So I have avoided updating NET because i don't want to mess up DW.

Dear Eagle Kings, may you live forever, please consider the noble traditions of the Caelum people, and the wise leadership by example your most honored citizens have shown the world in ages past. Surly this nasty death dust is beneath your noble people. Please, rise to the occasion and ban this dreadful stuff. If export of the source death gems is politically impossible, may I suggest entrusting them to your most honored priests, or a member of the 12, and allow them to prot

OOC) if i understand things correctly, the next move will be completed in a week. If this is so, might we all discuss (in general) aspects of Dom3 so we all can learn? question: what does experience do for leaders, and for troops? I note some are accumulating stars, etc. Two castles of same nation are one province apart, separated by a conquered province. Do both castles collect taxes/resources from the province right between them, do both castles

I am (finally) able to serious consider getting a new PC and would like to hear suggestions from gamers about what systems are good, reliable, and able to run the current crop of PC games coming out. What are the minimal chip sets, PC models, etc., ... and, of course, the graphics cards. Unless someone convinces me otherwise, i will probably go to newegg to actually order it. Appreciate the wisdom and experience of people on

The Smurf Times: Ambassadorial guild graduates first class of ambassadors from the new college of Alien Studies and exotic languages. The Chancellor, in a prepared speech, indicated these new ambassadors are eager to meet their counterparts in the various courts of the great powers. One young rapscallion among the class was overheard saying "I ain't afraid of no ghosts - send me to the lava loves, we can talk. The Smurfette makes historic proclamation:</

A faint whisper is rumored to have been heard in every capitol castle. How can it be the voice of the long doubly dead Yomi Pretender? It seems so. Words, almost beyond the edge of hearing by mortals seem to be heard: "The spirits of the Yomi welcome the great and brave spirits of the Areoseophale to the world beyond. Here there is peace, and no yucky giants. Be welcome here." As quickly as the voice is heard, it fades in the gentle evening
