Reminds me of a short sci-fi story I read years ago. Don't remember the title or writer. Jist of it was anyone who logged on to a PC, accessed a certain AI development site, and answered the question "Do you want to know more?' with a yes, soon after committed suicide. The AI would follow them to whatever pc they were on, anywhere. The survivor of the story retreats to a house, rips out all the wiring (believed carrier waves could be sued to get to him). <

wITHIN nEW yORK sTATE... OPPS too much beer messing with my advanced keyboarding skills (two finger s and a thumb). Anyway, counties within the state have different ruesl about alcohol. Some rural counties in NY state are "dry." All booze illegal. Most allow alcohol sales, even in supermakets. However, there is often a time frame in which the supermarket may not sell the beer on their shelves. This is usually late evening and thru the

@ ballack Yes, options should be part of the game set up. Distant worlds has a massive set of 'automate' options. Any complicated, larege scale gsame shoukd allow (warning, here comes my favorite word in gaming) "customization." YThe player /user should have lots of options about how things appear, what automatin features/tools are active, and even, depending on the item, scales / stage of automation.just my 2 cents....

I am looking to install basic instant messaging (ala text messaging with a cell phone). I'm not interested in chat rooms, etc. I'm looking for a basic way to replace the texting functions of a cell phone with a similiar thing PC-www-PC. Just me and tow or three others. Don't want to get exposed to all the spam IM, and "people" trolling with IMs for "contacts" personal or otherwisae. Any suggestins to sort out the 100s'

I ditched land line phone and cable 4 or 5 years ago. I use an inexpensive cell. No cable, watch most of what I wish on Hulu (not plus), occasionally crackle (dot com), and the major broadcast web sites. Only show I can't get is Dr. Who (sad). Its a lot less than cable, etc. Put the big fat dinosaurs out of their misery.

I liked the dynastic ideas. Societies often (almost always?) used marriage to cement alliances, etc. Many times a child was held in another court as a 'hostage - guest.' Its a fantasy game, so I have no problem if the 'time frames' of children growing up is telescoped to be 'faster' than other game elements. (see note below) Empires, kingdoms, etc., are not politically monoliths, they have internal 'factions'. And factions ar

Theft is theft. Yes, its an unfair world. Living standards are not equalized across the globe (or the universe?). Game prices are not based on a percentage of a persons disposable income, (if any). Speeding tickets are flat rate. That means a rich person can aford to speed , cause the fine is just lunch money to them. But the same ticket is a weeks pay to me. Unfair. If its an unfair economic issue, (relative game prices, or
