I like it the way it is. Too busy shamelessly exploiting it to think about balance. But then, strong heroes are the reason why I like to play this genre, and Paragon is how you get them.

Ok, I should have said it won't slow you down as much. That is, it slows down each individual some, but the total amount of experience between them all goes up. Meanwhile if leveling is a priority, consider the 'general' profession. And maybe pick the race for your sovie that gets a 10% xp bonus. Meanwhile, a quick calculation of champ-stacking with 'trainer' abiltiy. Assume that you take out somebody worth 50 xp. Alone you get
I've bitched about this before, but I would really like a hall-of-fame screen listing my top scores, with date, faction, points, etc. I just got what I think is the max score (10000, equaling Draginol himself with 13,090 points. It would mean more if I could see that at end end of my next game to see how they compared. BTW, Draginol is described as "a being of spirit and energy, radiant with power". Who wrote that and what was he kissing? :
Having lots of champs together won't slow you down if you prioritize trainer, potential & knowlege as your level-up choices. Especially trainer.
It is still a choosable race ability though, so it should be fixed anyway. Hopefully the devs will re-instate the two missing factions in an expansion.
Agree
Another area where Fe needs work is hero-differentiation. In MoM, Zaldon was very different that Gunthor and both were different from / inferior to Roland or Warrax. In FE you can level anybody into anything you want (same weakness as AoW:SM). With enough use of the paragon spell, you can level everybody into everything you want.
around 1.5 for me too. FE as is won't hold my attention as long as MoM did -- last played in in Jan 2012.
I see #2, 3 & 11 all the time.
This has been driving everyone crazy since E:WoM days. The most charitable spin I can put on the failure to fix it yet is that they are focusing on the areas where they need more user feedback to tweak the features -- the non-controversial / unanimous "delight" enhancements might come at the end of the beta, or maybe even not till the official release version... ... but if they are trying to make a good game as they go, its LONG past time to fix this.
Current campaign as 2 issues I haven't seen before, both started after I cast "tireless march" on everyone in my kill-stack. When the stack fights, movement points are reduced to zero even when they should still have been able to move. When I try to move the stack, even just 1 square, after going there it immediately burns all my remaining movement points moving me somewhere completely different, usually far far away. Restarting the computer doesn't help.
It used to be consistent a few versions ago. Progress ?
But then, the game goes a lot faster when I do it. Winning could be very tedious at 4 squares per turn.
Can't skewer the other guy while down and looking helpless ? How many movie endings would they have to re-write to make the bad guy win ?
Yep, this could use some work.
My pathname (not the default) does not have any blanks, it doesn't have/need quotes around it. I put quotes around it only for this post. And there is no - or /, just a space between the "exe" and the "cheat". This works for me -- not sure what to do with a path that needs quotes.
It looked to me like it didn't do anything, at least not for me. Please tell me I wasn't just giving research to the bad guys. Please.
First, enable cheats by adding " cheat" at the end of the shortcut you use to run it, like "C:\longpathname\FallenEnchantress.exe cheat" then press control and the letter ctrl + U toggles fog of war ctrl + T teleport selected unit to cursor ctrl + M gives 1000 of everything (gold, horses, crystal, etc) ctrl + B complete buildings in queue in selected city ctrl +&nbs
Quoting dctrjons, reply 3On the note of unit selection...Since WoM shift clicking or Ctrl clicking severely lag the cursor. Forcing me to shift-click, shift-click...and of course I do the occasional click-shift (damn-it) and have to start over. Is this just me? No it is not just you my cursor also lags like hell in fallen enchantress and in War of magic whenever I try to shift click chars.
Me too. &
Agree that 'graceful' is seriously useless. "Potential", "trainer", "knowledge" & the odd stray artifact work nicely the "paragon" spell, to get up to 4 levels per cast. If you think that is useless, explain in to my level-90 champions :) Granted, they might not be worth much without "paragon".
This time it's not one of those silly monsters that spawns in the middle of the ocean.... It's the epic-level "ogre's lair" part of the quest of mastery. Whoops. It landed on the outer wall of the maze territory for the city of Imperium quest. Grrr..... save game http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8928343/QuickSave.EleSav Will someone *please* re-vi
Same thing now in .914
I had same issue as OP. It's not the old 'ghost' thing - Nosima was running around after I killed her, trashing my nodes & outposts. After killing her many times in combat, I finally killed her with an overland spell -- that worked.
debug.err http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8928343/debug-try-to-move.err crash zip http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8928343/FallenEnchantress0_914-2012-05-12T11-06-53-578.zip
Yes please
then when I autoresolve it blows up, and there is NO crash zip file. Has happened 3 times now. This time I loaded a save game and it immediately took me into battle without giving me a chance to do anything. Grrrr.... save|load doing things like that is another old issues that someone posted about long ago. debug.err http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8928343/debug-instant-fight.err </p
