I've never seen 40+ units in a town in this game, but I've always been able to win on large maps with max # opponents by the 350 to 500 turn range. It never gets further than that for me. In fact, I've always been able to win before fully reaserching all the techs. In one game I saw an AI with several 10-man catapult squads which were very strong, and I realized I needed to move faster to win, that was the one game I lost, I think that was when the 1.08 patch came out which nixed wanderi

Fighting a force that takes up 90% of the free spaces on the battlefield and if you lose your archers due to ammo, you almost have no chance at winning. So this would mean either not having archers, or go into battle at a disadvantage. I'm for realism, but this game is not about realism, unless people could throw fire balls, make lightning storms co

For example, Asus Geforce XXX with XXXMB DDRX, Intel Core iX @2.XGHz, XGB DDRX RAM, Soundcard X, Windows X XXbit, DirectX um....X, .NET X, Service Pack X, etc.?
Yeah I guess that's the idea. If the gameplay is BOOOOORING, that's not a game ( or at least shouldn't be one). When you come into a battle where every spot on the battlefield has an enemy unit except the squares right above and below your army, THEN think if limiting ammo is such a good idea. When archer units run out, they are useless. No limited ammo.
Yeah, but they would auto-reple

I've given some pretty specific, concrete examples. You can say it "doesn't matter" all you want but it doesn't change reality.
A game or computer app should work as described on the box if my system matches the system reqs as denoted on the back of the box. When the system requirements on boxes start listing specific chips, along with all the other crap and peripherals you might have - maybe then you'll have a point. I actually did have a startup crash happen last night. My game locked up after I clicked the turn button (which usually happens if I don't save every 3 to 5 turns). I hit ctl esc, which is the only way to exit the game at that point. When I tried to reload the last autosave the game crashed at startup (wouldn't load: out of memory error), tried again same thing (apparently the problem got "saved"). I had to go back to the "previous auto save" before I could play the game. But this is not rela

I just want the game to work as described on the box if my system matches the system reqs as denoted on the back of the box. As a consumer, this is a very basic expectancy that anyone buying (any) product should receive in return from their purchase.

I try to get in the habit of saving every 3 or 4 turns. Even if you autosave every turn it's still a major frustration having to go back and redo all the moves and battles for 100+ units on large maps when you get to the later turns, where each turn can take 20 to 30 minutes easy when you've made it 300/400 turns into the game.
