[quote who="Noble713" reply="48" id="2773476"] What we should have is technology research --> better food production --> bigger cities --> city populations pay more taxes (gildar). Gold mining would be a parallel source of income, with quest loot towards the bottom. I would drastically reduce the monster spawning and eliminate the gold rewarded from everything but believable opponents like bandits. Bandits probably have money. Spiders shouldn't.<br /
[quote who="Satrhan" reply="185" id="2773218"] Quoting cpl_rk, reply 182 I think the scale of the game as-is is fine. It's designed to be a "company" level game not "divisional" or "army" level if that's was you posters mean by "epic". This is simply not true. Elemental is a game where you build a kingdom or empire. You are its ruler, not some low level noble or commander. You are defending your entire country, or invading others. This means

I've never used this spell myself as I usually use the earth magic book. I've seen the AI use it on occasion when I go up against an air elemental. It usually casts the spell on one of my macemen in the first line, teleporting it to some random location. It's a fairly useless spell IMO, but might have it use if you get boxed in a corner against a superior unit that you know will kill you, then just teleport it randomly & hope it gets sent to the other corner of the
I think the scale of the game as-is is fine. It's designed to be a "company" level game not "divisional" or "army" level if that's was you posters mean by "epic". This is not important, the stuff that really needs fixing is: 1) quality of AI (by far) on both strategic & tactical sides. 2) stuff related to tactical combat: improved weapons differentiation & variety, improve unit movement so that most every unit is not just moving 2-squares a round, improved terrain
This game is obviously not designed for "epic" scale. This game is not designed as an "army" level game but rather at "company" level. For those of you that are interested in epic fantasy battles in a new game on an "army" scale, I recommend Dominions 3. Frankly, I like both scales as a strategy game player. I would not want to see the stack cap incresed in this game as it will just lead to longer battles that will end with the same result. Instead of larger battles, I'd pr
There are as many different ideas as how tactical combat should be implemented as there are stars in the sky. I'm mostly behind the second poster who said he liked the system as is. i.e. I also prefer simplified combat, and I think that's what the designer wanted from the getgo which is great from my POV. However, there are some problems with the combat system as it is now that I'm seeing which need to be fixed. 1) 99% of the troops move two squares a turn. There n
