I find them quite useful when I run out of metal. I'd rather have a unique unit or a diplomacy unit, than a leather-wearing stickwielder.

Because as a modder you have to be realistic and realize that we have extremely low priority when it comes to having requests implemented. Even very minor changes are almost always ignored. I could count on one hand the requests that have been implemented. I would LOVE a system like global events, but is it realistic to ask for?
1. No, but I'm pretty sure you can make a champion give a city-wide bonus percentage to a certain production, if he's staioned in the city. 2. No, it is not possible to give different amounts of points at levelups. There is a file called CoreChampionLevels.xml but it is not in use. 3. No, but you can work around the problem by using a slot that is one-item only, such as the cloak. Of course, the AI probably won't use it.
While this would definitely be awesome, I don't think just making global events possible at this point would be fruitful at all. And by that I mean you'd need a series of new gamemodifiers to make them really useful. For example, we might be able to spawn a goodiehut, a quest, a resource tile, some environment or terrain with global events "turned on" today. But spawning new factions? That would require another change. Global modifiers to production? There's nothing like that in the g
Better post them in a thread.
1) You know, umberdroths, darklings and so on. 2) Yes, use a custom resource in addition to mana for each unit type. The Ai will summon everything it can, afaik.
But I would bet that if you talked to Cameron there are hundreds of things he would have liked in the movie that simply weren't executable. So even in a 300 million dollar movie its all about matching ambition and execution.
Like a good story! *drumroll*
There is actually plenty of room for tweaking the AI, it just requires a significant effort to replace the Ai personality. There is no support for putting special orders in there though, it's all handled indirectly through weights. (this will be the next update for expandedfactions, making each faction behave differently) Resources - can't think of anything that isn't in the game already. Units - the AI summons units through magic, and builds units from diplomacy world resourc
Tile limit is to keep the FPS reasonable for all players, and cut down work for modders so they don't have to do two different versions of each tile, one "high object count" and one "low object count".
Well, you have permission to use anything I've released. Global events are not possible. You'll need to do procedural map generation (like elementerra) to avoid the random placement of stuff. Global events are not possible. The AI probably won't fight you for the deus ex machina.

No, the dxdiag contains no sensitive information. The only piece you might want to remove is the name of your computer. For example,
Machine name: *********
listed near the top.
Click your start button, enter dxdiag into the search square. Open it. Wait for it to run its things (progress bar near bottom). Cilck Save All Information. Save the txt, then upload it somewhere (I posted mine on www.pastebin.com ). Edit: You might want to remove the name of your computer from the dxdiag. It is listed under "Machine name" near the top of the file.
I don't have any graphical issue besides the extreme slowdown/stuttering. No visible glitches, like miscoloured textures. Edit: If you're suffering from the same problem, supply a dxdiag. It takes 30 seconds to upload, and it might help them fix it.
I must say compared to Civ 5 this games mods are very slow coming - I guess the tools are not up to the job yet. I have not seen one accessable mod yet.
Really? I haven't seen a single significant Civ5 mod yet (nor have I seen a significant elemental mod). Maybe I'm just not looking in the right place. Where can I find the great stuff?
Kenata, this lib produces an error in the debug.err file. I haven't tested the skill, but it may be worth checking in to. The error:
Debug Message: WARNING: Spell All Out Assault has no target type, but has city or unit target modifiers. Need to specify a spell target type to know which types of units or cities are valid targets
There is actually a ton of small changes like these in every patch, way too many to print in the patch notes. I've found that the only way to know about all the changes is to compare the core XML of "before" and "after" patch (and read the changelog, ofcourse).
If you want, I can fraps a game of 1.11 and a game of 1.19. That should clearly show the issues. However, you'll have to tell me if you want me to do that, I don't want to waste time if you won't look at it.
Unfortunately, I'm getting a significant decrease in performance in Elemental from 1.19. Here is my dxdiag: http://pastebin.com/fQPzEkEt My description of the problem will be vague, because I can't back it up with hard numbers. Menus and loading within the game seems to take much longer now, than in 1.11. For example, in 1.11 I could load up the game and - once it started - press "New game" and literally spam the "next" button
The game still doesn't actually close sometimes. Check your task manager, maybe you have a couple of fellow 1gb magickas in it. Edit: LOL. I just got an achievement unlock for having all 4 players survive a spell called Thunderstorm. That's how powerful some of the spells are - you get an achievement if it doesn't kill anyone on your team.
If you haven't played DF to the point of FUN, you are not a PC gamer. I don't care what you did or who you are. You have merely fiddled.
Woah... I can't believe it uses Steamworks, the multiplayer connectivity is RUBBISH over the internet.
From Akil Dawkins, Here is the spider skeleton http://www.mediafire.com/?gumdisekhn28vby and here is the giant demon skeleton http://www.mediafire.com/?1frcjf6o6v8rb59 both posted with permission. I've tested them and they line up with the animations for superdemons and spiders. If you're looking to export a new skeleton (this doesn't a
No, nothing. In Elemental, there has been a world-shattering Cataclysm and the entire world is more or less dead.
It is a LOT of fun. The humor is just right, not subtle and not in-your-face please-laugh-at-this-joke. It is extremely frustrating (in a good way) to get your spell elements in the wrong sequence, or fire them with the wrong button, to see something completely different happen than what you intended. And that's the beauty of it. I think my favourite spell is the one where I summon a stone around me, like a personal shield (shield+earth+selfcast). It allows me some precious ti
