My fear for Dx12 is that it is going to be windows 8 only, for arbitrary reasons. Microsoft will think it's a great way to monetize the development. But they'll actually delay market penetration because every game would still need to support windows 7 through dx11 for several more years. If they are smart, they'll release it as a windows 7 / windows 8 "service pack", but require the user to authenticate online first. It'll still hurt acceptance, but it's much harde

Saw a guy using a Surface Pro a few months back and I've been absolutely itching to get my hands on one. Think I'll hold off for a bit for this one instead!

The cynic in me feel like the cat was just responding to an aggressor in its own home, saving the kid was circumstantial. But then there's that moment when the cat bounces off the dog and looks back at the kid...
No, I have it, but thank you for the offer. The DLC includes new sovereigns, and they need new background stats to work properly with the mod (example: to make them "count as sovereign" or even "count as humanoid"). But there is no good way for me to insert those stats using a mod. I can copy the sovereigns, but then I am just copying something from DLC ($5) and including it in my mod. People wouldn't need the DLC to get the sovereigns. Not good. I've seen one or two o
Iframes? What year is this?! They should consider integrating adblock into the client. Would save a lot of resources not having to run it as a script.
I changed to 32-bit version, and I didn't crash for 2 hours straight. Much easier to enjoy now. ;)
Had a chance to play it today, doesn't seem nearly as polished as you guys made me think. Lots of buttons with "WIP"-signs, lots of tooltips that don't make sense, game crashes after 35-40 turns. This isn't even playable compared to how good Endless Space and Dungeon of the Endless worked pre-release.
Sovereigns in the leader pack don't have the background unitstats. I've sent a file to Derek Paxton, hopefully he will include them in a future release like he has been so kind to do for dlc 1-4.
You can disable the DLC if you use Steam Beta. Or you can just play without any of the DLC sovereigns.
version H uploaded Not compatible with dlc leader pack vsUnitType_Overwrite.xml now makes use of the new modifier against unitstats, so all those things contained in the file are no longer "against x unless user is X", and now just "against x" (regardless of if user is x)

A Memory of Light, the last book in the Wheel of Time series. It did a fine job with tying up all the major plotlines, I think. I only wish that it had been more imaginative - there really were no surprises to speak of except
what the crystal sword was really for
. Also, it treated much of the story like the ending was a foregone conclusion, and I didn't particularly like that. Too many busy plotting what would happen after the "big end". That in itself created a lot of
Wow... that's almost a 100 good suggestions for new factions. Kind of incredible. Endless Space was the same; some incredibly committed members in the community. I think their G2Gether voting stuff really engages people... other than that, I can't really explain why their games get such loyal fanbase.
I like WIP / prototype screenshots. Just in-between a drawing board and a teaser.
Probably this weekend. ;)
Complaints about AOW3 is about the poorly implemented strategy part of the game - which is practically identical to AOW1 and AOW2. So I think it's very fair to compare LH to AOW3. I mean, your argument isn't valid, I think. Let's say LH had most strategy mechanics unchanged from E:Wom, and AOW3 was a drastic improvement from AOW1. Would you then say "but AoW has had two sequels! E:wom only had two expansions so it's ok that they didn't change anything about it!"</p
Yes, how could we ever compare the third Elemental game to Age of Wonders III, also the third game in a series? Totally unfair! [e digicons]:D[/e]
Kumquat is pretty much unchanged for modders so far. You can use the same stuff you did in E:WOM for LH - I do. There's some very minor changes that, to be honest, I doubt anyone noticed except myself. Which is not to say that they haven't developed the engine. They have. But inserting content into it appears to be unchanged.
There was an alchemy and crafts mod that basically let you turn reagents into global world resources, then you used those to craft your final scroll/item.
LH wins far and away on strategy, AOW 3 wins on tactical battles. Too bad we can't get one game with both parts good.
Am I the only person who finds the TV series 'Elementary' an abomination on ALL counts?
I puked a little in my mouth thinking about it. And after the british Sherlock tv series was such a huge success, they didn't learn from that though.
Which means... that you didn't have a "proper go" before your previous comment? That's pretty shitty, dude... [e digicons]
They don't think it be like it is, but it do.
