Kitkun
Blasted lands surely include fouled air, and probably some 'inappropriate' fire (volcanism). Plus, you could use fire has that general-purpose destructive aspect that you could apply to purging undesirable stuff, including boiling water to leave behind a bunch of dissolved nastiness while clean steam escapes
This works quite well to explain, actually. Anyways, I'm all for huge late-game FU spells. Perhaps one so powerful it simply wipes a portion of the map away entirely
Oi, this would go better in the Modding section, not the off-topic board. The OT board is shared among a number of Stardock sites. [e digicons]:fox:[/e]
Although I think a lot of times people discuss topics just because they are going so batshit crazy waiting to get their hands on it. It's like phone sex - it's not what you REALLY want, but it does give a degree of satisfaction.
And you win the forum. [e digicons]:fox:[/e]
its because everybody forgot who you were. It means you need to hang around the forums more.
Ach. It's hard to keep track of Demigod and Elemental while still checking Sins now and then... Plus I am on IRC often. (Though I let it idle when I'm gone. BTW, yer gettin' another fish slappin' for that one. I've been on E:WoM forums for a little bit now.) [e digicons]:fox:[/e]
Boogie, we're doing your work for you......
Nah, we aren't actually writing code for it. Of course, it's not like I could... yet. [e digicons]:fox:[/e]
And how about, caravan spread influence/border? And if the caravan has not travel that area for long time, the border dwindles? After all, caravan means trade route & trade route spread influences.
I like this idea. Reinforces the importance of spreading and defending your trade routes. [e digicons]:fox:[/e]
Oh my stars and garters. Master of Magic is the 'spiritual predecessor' of Elemental, and if corporate IP/marketing crapola hadn't ensued, the game might even have officially been Master of Magic 2.
I mean the spell (I hope it's named that), not what is it. [e digicons]:P[/e] It's been discussed so much here, it took me forever to realize you might think I didn't know about it. [e digicons]XD[/e] [e digicons]:fox:[/e]
I would like the red line to be the indicator of your essence-powered land.
I would think that would be a kind of natural border, though. Anyways, if the diplomacy system is good enough (By this, I mean you can offer such things as no tolls, etc.), then borders souldn't be a problem. [e digicons]:fox:[/e]
imageshack is blocked here at my work, noooooooooo
Fail. [e digicons]:fox:[/e]
but I'm not sure I'd really trust my laptop to play Gal Civ 2
Well, I managed to run GalCiv2 on my computer with a failing video card . Even some 2d games would crash the system. I couldn't run Chess, even. Granted, it was probably a fluke, and I did stay zoomed out the entire time, but it was funny nonetheless. [e digicons]:fox:[/e]
That is an Element crystal. I THINK it's an air crystal, but it might be earth as well.... the columns are knocked over because it is an ancient artifact from before the Cateclysm.
Oh yeah... anyways, I was under the impression that the tower was built to utilise it, but that makes sense.
Turning INTO deasert, or turning FROM deasert?
Fertile land already turned into a desert, which is becoming like the surrounding land. [e digicons]:

Thanks for the info, Boogiebac. Couple of things that have me wondering... the central info pane and the one in the upper left appear to be showing similar info, but what's displayed is different. What does what, then? The bars in the upper left, one green and one... empty? Why are there gates when the walls seem to be weaker than the doors? [e digicons]:X[/e] The tower obviously has some magical property, but why are there columns that appear to have been kno
That is an awesome screenshot where did ya get it?
Frogboy posted that in #Demigodgame IRC channel the other day. Gotta love a company where the biggest source of leaked content is the CEO. [e digicons]:P[/e]
.jpg is your friend when uploading and posting large picture files.
Eh, I just saved it, uploaded, and posted. Wasn't paying attention, and too lazy to change it. [e digicons]:fox:[/e]
From the other journals and posts about the modding possibilities, I would assume the intention is to make buildings functionally moddable as well
Indeed: [e digicons]:fox:[/e]
Perhaps so. It looks like a pretty rich world: [e digicons]:fox:[/e]
True, but those are more or less insignificant on these map scales: any road that meanders outside of its tile and into another is a disadvantage with no puropse. Now, if they twist a little bit within their tile just to look good, that's fine, but anything more would begin to effect gameplay.
Ah, now that I go back and read what I wrote, I'm not making myself clear at all. [e digicons]X|[/e] What I actually mean is that they shouldn't go straight until they hit an obsta
Roads rarely take a perfectly straight course. Anything from a large boulder to a steep grade could cause a road to change directions. Especially in ye olde dayes. They're still faster though as you know exactly where to go and don't have to deal with many obstacles. [e digicons]:fox:[/e]
Create a zip folder, copy the file into that, and then attach and email that. [e digicons]:fox:[/e]
64-bit megamap. Just for this. [e digicons]:fox:[/e]
'Master of Magic'? [e digicons]:fox:[/e]
Oh my god. Not more foxes.
And this is why you shall fail. ZF FTW. [e digicons]:fox:[/e]
Don't judge based on my typing, I am a terrible typist with lots of typos and for most things I don't proof read my own stuff. And I know there is spell checkers etc and even grammar checkers for a lot of that stuff these days. I am still surprised at how much published material I come across that is riddled with errors.
Heh. Exactly. You should see me on IRC sometimes, when my dying keyboard is acting up. I don't proofread that either since I'm not fairly fast at typing, either
