[quote who="random_target" reply="28" id="2824703"] Quoting kenata, reply 27 What I think would be interesting would be to make all three wonders require being built in the same level 5 city, and then adding some mechanic where after the first one is finished the city in question becomes visible to every other faction. Otherwise, a faction could simply rush through the civic tech tree, build all 3 buildings without anyone knowing where or how to stop you. As for the same city

It's pretty much how Heavenfall said, though I can list a couple exceptions. City-String Exception: In my experience, if you're playing a Kingdom, you only ever get one Caravan. Because of this, if you ever end up starting on a peninsula, or a canyon, or anything at all causes you to string out cities, it can be a good idea to caravan string from City 2 to 3, 3 to 4, etc etc. Conceivably, it's always better to send Caravans 2 through X to City 1, but the problem ar

Fortunately, that looks like it's changing
[quote who="Istari" reply="36" id="2821983"] You tend to have some really good ideas/thoughts on things. @ Black-Knight: Okay... I get the crusade... I'm sure we all do at this point... Make Teleport Optional/Remove It... Yes, we know your stance on that. This isn't AoW bud. Hell, it's not even a whole game yet, just hold yer horses. PBEM: Great, hope it gets implemented so guys like you can actually use it. Really, no sarcasm there at all. Not even implying I don't want you on my MP Server. Seriously, TBS games take a lot of
Okay, guys... About the Production thing... I dunno if it's like this for Kingdoms... But any level 4+ Empire city can get the ability to produce units in one turn... Quick aside, if I seem condescending... Well, it's because I'm being just a little condescending, but only because I can't believe none of ya'all have figured this out. Back to the point; If it -is- like this for Kingdom's, then it would be Level 5 Cities only, as that's the level required f
See, I don't care about a graphics card... I've got a pretty damn good one. Not the best, not even top of the line or brand new, by any means... But by any means, it's still pretty damn good. That's why I'm not going to submit a spell... Unless... Dear Derek, If I win... Can I get a copy of the Heirgamenon and a copy of Destiny's Ember's for free instead?

This makes me wonder how people can find you distasteful... Every single fucking thing I've seen written by you has been a stitch. And this... THIS was just plain epic-ly hilarious. Point aside, I loved this story. Point taken, I love the point you're making, and I totally agree. Seriously though, you should formulate all of your gripes in this manner. Not implying that you have any real problem with this, just assuming like a moron that you do.&nbs
You said it'll be a week. If you're lucky, you'll get your comp on the same day that the 1.1 Beta is released. This is far more dependent on Stardock than your end... But like you said, the Elemental Deities are smiling on you... Consequently, we'd all be getting lucky too... ELEMENTAL DEITIES! CAN YOU HEAR ME?! KEEP SMILING ON GCFL! BLESS HIM! That is all.
SavyG has a point about Nintendo though... Sure, the gameplay concepts in their newer franchise titles are generally new and 'fresh,' but Nintendo's also marketing to easily the most idiotic market on the planet... Kids. Kids don't see the Gameplay, the Gameworld, or the Strategy of a game... They see Mario, Kirby, Sonic, what-have-you, and piss and moan until their parents buy them the game with their favorite character in it. This is obviously not their fau
@Lord Xia: lol. Here comes Xiahou Dun, making the Internet a safer place, one sexual deviant at a time. Now if only you could do something about that pedobear character... @Derek: Read some more posts on the forums earlier... Sounds to me like you've already got things well in hand with Elementals forward progress. Can't wait to see what else you (apparently,) are going to bring to the table. *The Unibomber takes off his sunglasses and draws
Well, sounds to me like you guys have been doin' some serious thinking about the direction of the game since release and are figuring out how to get to the destination at last. I gotta say, as sad as I am to hear that our precious Beta's getting delayed, it's mitigated by the feeling that you're doing it right. Keep fighting the good fight guys.

If we're going to go with a more complicated underlying system, I hope it makes for better parallelization of production when it comes to units. It irks me right now that I've got one town doing all the work for 20 turns of creating armored mounted units, while 4 other towns are basically sitting idle doing nothing. Why doesn't one of them train the horses, another one make the weapons, a third make the armor, and the l
Fishslayer, we -ARE- playing the same game. The whole "Give them a long bow, sit back, and watch them pwn," is what I ALWAYS do with Heroes. That is THE PROBLEM. Let me elaborate on that statement. The Problem is you CANNOT make a Hero Melee. Legolas is the only guy who could make a bow look truly heroic, and in the movies that's far too mitigated by the fact that he's played by Orlando Bloom, so only Book-Legolas counts. How many Heroes in Fantasy settin
Do none of you find it just slightly disturbing how okay we all seem to be with this? I, for one, oppose the idea, albeit on a purely biased and non-objective basis. Sure, it's got the whole 'Realism' thing going for it... But even that's half-assed in this regard. Coming from a purely objective, game-play-related standpoint here, I have a couple ideas on the subject. First off, give players a disincentive to inbreed. Inbred children should have a tra
