Hey Louist, can you elaborate on Armored Princess? The game looks interesting but it seems that it is strictly a single player campaign and that the player is always forced to use the Princess as their hero. Is there no custom games or skirmishes or multiplayer? edit: on a side note from the videos of Heroes of Might and Magic 5 that I've seen, the game looks pretty promising but I don't really like the way that the hero is kept out of direct combat. I can't imagine why people want the game rushed though. I'd rather see it polished over a period of 4 years than pushed out the door in 1 year.

I think a tutorial would be almost better (some sort of introduction campaign) than advisors. This is simply because (speaking from past experience) their advice becomes a redundant and frustrating intrusion for accomplished players. If advisors are included there definitely needs to be an option to turn off their introduction oriented pieces of advice. It would be great if advisors could offer a range of micro/macro management oriented information and advice that regular players woul

Hey guys, thanks for all of the helpful responses so far! I'm going to check out each game tonight when I'm done with work.
I'm not sure of forum rules regarding double (or in this case quintuple posts), but in case you were not aware: you are able to edit your original post instead of using placeholder posts for future updates.
I could be wrong but it says in the description for the Town Hall that the building should add 2 prestige to my city. Oddly enough when the building is finished being constructed, my city has only received a bonus of 1 prestige.
I'm looking for some Tactics or RPG Tactic games for the PC. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'd prefer something from 2000 or later.
The whole road system is going to be re-worked apparently so I doubt they put much time into the current system.
Actually no, you can't instantly build a massive level 1 city, either. You can queue up .. about 8 buildings, but they're not built, and won't be for many turns - and even once you've built enough housing to advance to level 2, you still have to wait for population to accumulate at the normal rate. I don't mean to insult your intelligence, but your posts make it sound like you can't tell the difference between a completed building and one th
How global ressources make 0 sense while global currency make sense? After all, as soon as you found gold in a goody hut at one side of the map, you can use it for building an improvement in a city on the other side. Same for income generated by improvement.
And how is it different from the Civ series with the quick buy feature when you have enough gold?
I don't know, I thought we were talking about Elemental. I didn't realize we were trying to emulate other games.
It's also not a "city", it's an outpost. It's certainly not massive, it's tiny. So when you said "you can instantly build a massive city", what you really meant was "you can queue up a few buildings at an outpost"? Queueing up construction is different from any other modern TBS how exactly? Let's keep the hyperbole to a minimum, shall we?
You can instantly build a massive <span style="text-d
Quoting TheProgress, reply 26it allows the player to instantly create massive cities within one turn (provided enough resources are available). Really? Did I somehow miss the part where build times are completely eliminated and you can throw up 40 tiles worth of city and population in one turn?
You can queue up construction for every occupied tile as soon as you place the initial city building. Yes you have to wait f

The perm solution is on our end, but we probably wont get to it for a few weeks
I've been getting a new issue (with advanced lighting off). Didn't see this pre .299. I'm getting what can only be described as "static" and transparent Xs appearing in my animated unit portraits.
I just loaded a saved game. The icon for all of my buildings are labeled as "under construction" despite the fact that only 2 or so should be under construction.
I strongly dislike the global resource system. Not only does it make 0 sense, it allows the player to instantly create massive cities within one turn (provided enough resources are available). An elegant, simple solution is this: Roads allow cities to share resources. The player doesn't need to setup trade routes or caravans, they just need to construct roads. Two cities that share a road connection will share surplus resources based on demand <s
Upon loading a saved game, the watchtower in my city is no longer providing me with any sight to the surrounding area.
This happened to me too. I couldn't understand why I couldn't move my unit any more. Upon loading the save I discovered why: an entire mountain wasn't being displayed (the first time around).
I had an update just a minute ago... As for whether it is ready, I would agree that it is not. I got about 4 crashes in 4 hours. I hear that is a good deal better than before, but still not what I would consider stable (around the 1 crash per 10 hours is what I usually consider stable-ish). I would give it another week or two, even if it means I have to wait longer to see the shiny new graphics engine.

Looks like there's ANOTHER update. Half the issues we're running into have to do with getting all the new data files properly checked in.
How do we get these micro-updates? I've checked through Impulse but it is not finding any updates.
As soon as I hit the "end turn" button to progress to turn 15, the game crashes. This has happened 3 times in a row. http://www.sendspace.com/file/5qrqq6 http://www.sendspace.com/file/x7zzc5 http://www.sendspace.com/file/pxmbru
Update has made the game LESS stable. I used to be able to play for quite a while before crashing. Now I continually crash within the first 12 turns.
