I can't believe it uses Steamworks, the multiplayer connectivity is RUBBISH over the internet.
The multiplayer has been broken but they're releasing a patch a day (literally) to fix the multiplayer and resolve the issues that some of the others are experiencing. I've already beat the single player portion of the game (was quite funny and good) but am awaiting the fixes so I can fight with other wizards over the net :P

Instead of costing 25 gold to cut down the forest, it should cost 25 people (temporarily). That is all.

I literally meant that the strategic and tactical AI poses no threat: the strategic AI commands an empire that has a power rating 5x higher than that of my own - they declare war on me -
What color would that be? :D

I don't mean to be the negative guy in the face of good news and I realize that you love programming the AI, but why do we have to suffer when your time is needed elsewhere in the company? If you don't have time to work on the AI, why can't a programmer be assigned to work on the AI while in your absence? If there is no one to spare, why can't (other than for budget reasons) you hire an additional AI programmer - he can work on the tactical AI along side "Charles" or at your side with the str
If the tactical AI is too incompetent to use spells, then perhaps some additional resources / programmers should be assigned towards the tactical AI! It is ridiculous to make the pool shallow in fear that the retarded AI is going to drown. The logic behind teleportation is n ot difficult. Hell, I just played a $10 indie game where some of the enemies teleport and they do so just fine.
I cannot speak for everyone but I am personally happy that patch 1.2 is focused on bugs, polish, tweaks and stability. It's pointless to build upon a foundation that is a bit wobbly - with that said however, I'm curious of what the developers have planed regarding version 1.3 of Elemental (and future versions for that matter). Now that we know that Fallen Enchantress is breaking off from Elemental, will Elemental be seeing any substantial feature patches or will all future patches con
Nothing helpful to say? Then stfu.
The only "polish" issue is the multiplayer which is completely problematic at the moment. Single player is very solid albeit a bit frustrating in some spots.
I never look at the cloth map either.
I'm sorry, but roads and rivers are the last thing Elemental needs in order to be interesting. Wide ranges of unique monsters, distinct races, clashing magics and terrain types, secret relics locked away in forgotten tombs. This is the stuff that will make Elemental interesting. Not infrastructure or water.
63. Added a new tactical Air 1 spell, Wind Shield. Gives all allied units +5 dodge vs ranged attacks. 64. Removed the Blink spell.
One step forward... And one step back. I realize you want the game to be a polished and consistent as possible, but removing spells at this point - no matter how unbalanced they are is simply the wrong thing to do atm. Maybe if the game had a spell list rivaling

The biggest thing atm, standing in the way of making the game fun is the strategic and tactical AI. There is no point in playing if there is no challenge / threat / conflict. Aside from the AI, the magic needs more depth, heroes need more abilities (skill trees if possible), tactical battles need more depth (walls, gates, destructible elements, etc) and factions / races need more differentiation.
I honestly hope the devs are paying attention to this great work.
Probably never. I still don't like GalCiv in any of those areas.
I knew you were going to say that. What about being up to your liking (within reason) in Elemental?
To fun to me would be better AI in War of Magic, much better diplomacy, better UI, more quests and better tactical battles. Beyond that it's a matter of whether the game is for you or not.
Those all sounds great. When will these be up to your liking in Elemental?
I think the game will be moderately polished after v1.4, but of course such guestimations are pointless. The primary determining factor of whether the game will be entertaining or not by v1.4 will be the state of the AI; there is no point in playing if the AI (on ridiculous) poses no threat.
