So I've just discovered what is apparently a great and fantastic game (space rangers 2), but everywhere I go I read complaints and issues regarding the in-game text (translated from russian to english). A game with poorly translated text is kind of a deal breaker for me and I was wondering if there are any unofficial pathes/mods that fix the text. I discovered one person on steam that was trying to fix up the text but I got the sense that he wasn't working from the russian game, but r

Right now, one animation will cut directly into another, but with frame blending you'll get around 5 frames of overlap, so the transition wont look like crap (ie. what you see in the video).
Ah yeah, some frame blending would be great and solve a lot of the abruptness going on.
TheProgress: Which animations in that video did you find weak? There are some technical issue we need to overcome (combat units all idling in synch, no frame blending, etc) but the only two animations I have an issue with in the video are the plaguecat dying and Morian's hand clipping through the ground during his attack.
@ 0:32 - the snake's attack is rather ridged. @ 0:37 - the soldier's run animation. The magic system doesn't really make much sense at the moment. There is life, death, fire, etc different magics but there are only 4 shards - where do the other magics get their power from?
Art is great, but you guys need better animators honestly.
Please stop trying to make MP some separate entity. If quests are needing to be removed for multiplayer, I doubt that they are going to be worthwile for single player. Qusets should be about awarding the (brave/foolish) player who undertakes them. In multiplayer, the separate players should compete for quests, just the same as with single player. If quests are not part of the "main game", then what are they doing in the game at all?
I can't speak for others, but I'd personally like for more defined tiles. Right now, it is not easy to determine where forests end and where they start. Tile bonuses in tactical battles are also unclear.
Yeah, joining a forum just to spam some ads to your game - that's going to turn out well for you I'm sure.

I think Elemental: War of Magic has too many construction sites to ever reach the status of polished and fun. Though I still hope you guys aim to create a full blown 4X game. I could be wrong, and I hope I am, but the way I read the press release and the following info, I get the
Will there be a beta for FE? If so when do you expect it to start? June? July?
Performance increases?
I strongly suggest all Stardock staff to check all man-sized objects that are brought in by visitors. Just saying...
I completely agree that these things would be cool and would add a lot of flavor to the tactical experience, but these are not exactly necessities to making fun or engaging tactical combat. In fact, specifying damage types and resistances places additional strategy into party creation, but actually shallows the combat by further defining the results of player choices. For instance, say you have a battle between a mounted unit and a spear unit.
Special abilities are great but specialized equipment would also bring welcome depth. Examples: Spears doing extra damage against mounted units Grouping weapons into damage types: magical, elemental, slashing, piercing, bludgeoning. Grouping armors into damage resistant types: magical, elemental, slashing, piercing, bludgeoning. Unit visibility: let units with certain gear or traits to hide in tall grass / trees. etc Also
All this talk about memory issues - I've yet to have a memory related crash (even including 1.0). Is the issue ram or video memory?

When you start the download it will say the "estimated time" is a little over an hour, but don't believe that. If you have a decent connection it should only take about 30 to 45 minutes. It took me a little over a half hour. Sadly I have to run into town and take care of a few things at the health department before I can play .
Oh I wasn't implying that I was having
What does high school have to do with it? In the games industry and the games rating industry, anything below 70% is considered a critical failure. 70-79% is considered "medicore". They could honestly chop half the scale off entirely and only use 50-100% and most people would never notice (you have to be an extra special brand of failure like Final Fantasy 14 to score below 50). I know that when I gave Elemental right now a D-, it
That's pretty standard for US colleges, not taking grade inflation into account. It varies. Some Math classes a 30 was passing cause the tests were so damn hard. High schools were even stricter- my high school A was 93-100 a 70 was a D-.
Is a D failing? Anyway, that's crazy and I've never heard of that for highschools. Were you in a private school by chance? As for
So in your high school, students would fail a course if they achieved less than 70%? Interesting world you've lived in. I doubt Brad was asking for scores based on how games are weighted according to reviewers like IGN or Gamespot (where I too normally never buy a game that is below 80%). That is an entirely different matter. A rough ranking system relative to letter grades would be: F: below 50%. Failing / failure. C-: between 50% and 60%. Terrible.</
CAUTION: I distinctly remember the Empire:TW demo being of a higher degree of quality than the actual release.
Tallying scores is useless because people score the same thing quite differently. It's also kinda skewed because it sounds like Brad expected most people to have bought those games (maybe it's what he bought?) I think my giving a game 8/10 because it's mediocre (aka a C) might be another person's 6/10 for example. If I rate a game below a 7, it's a bomb to me. At least it m
+Karma to Mandragoran for his continuous (and painful) dance with the AI.
To compliment my previous post where I rated Elemental as currently being 5/10 , here is a list of content and concepts that will improve the game based on my own personal tastes: Deeper, more fleshed out tactical battles: + 1.25 Meaningful differences between factions and races: + 1.25 A deeper magic system, along side more spells: + 0.85 Wider array of weapons, armors, unique items, legendary weapons, etc: + 0.65<
