Short bows were supposed to go down to 3g from how I understood the revamp. I think its just an oversight on the short bows. Course this is still detrimental either way, as now you are paying an arm and a leg for shortbows but a fair price for longbows. guess it means research advance archery right after archery if you are kingdom. No sense even buying a shortbow.

You keep posting around that picture of the dragon surrounded by troops. As most people who have been watching the game knows that is from when the battles were gonna be semireal time. Such a thing doesn't make sense in the current system. Sure you could have more numbers of troops but at this point its purely aesthetic.

They work, but the way they work now is they add damage to the spells itself. Take fireball for instance, for each fire shard you control you get 12 more damage outta the spell when cast.

Well in the gold release the familiars and stuff with mana but no spells could cast any spell you knew that they had enough mana for. I liked it that way. But it got changed in patches. Don't know if it was an Accidental change or what. But I miss having 4 casters and 4 imps unloading fireballs in the first round of combat.

While we are at it. Lets mention an options option I would like to have. Vsync. Sure I can force it on in my CCC, but I rather not have to.

Mix 1 part HoMM 1 part civ and 1 part MoM. shake vigorously till its a giant mash of stuff. Play. In all seriousness though, its a fantasy 4x game. It has modest city building, questing, and tactical (sorta) combat. Throw in a dash of RPG elements with heroes and sovereigns leveling up and gaining stats etc. Then of course there are the tech trees and the magic spells. For a more complete idea of what the game is though. I would maybe head over to Youtube and do a searc

[quote who="Mystikmind" reply="187" id="2773641"]This is an interesting thread, people talking about the various civ games. Personally i still play civ2 more often than civ3 or civ4. Civ 3 has ranged artillery which for me keeps it interesting enough to play over civ 4. Civ4 has the advanced unit experience development which is a brilliant concept but sadly just doesn't work due to unit attrition that even combat odds in the 90 percentile range cannot save you from unless you like frequent re

Or they can just add a Brief text that says Turn ## when the turn official starts. So you hit end turn, everything moves, Turn ## pops up on screen and you go about your turn. Minimum coding and implementation needed, so fast, easy, and cheap. Which allows more important things to be addressed.

you play the campaign once and you know how it ends. You play (a future balanced harder elemental) in sandbox mode and dont' know how it ends. ONE offers us replay value. One does not. Its a no brainer which one they should be spending "most" the budget on. Sure if its got an okay campaign great, but if not then not I won't shed any tears over it.

I'm not sure how they will work out. I'm writing Book 2 and 3 myself and the tools are somewhat more powerful now than when Book 1

Its okay, I loved elemental at first, but as the novelty has worn off I have a hard time bringing myself to play it. I hope a few patches fix that. At least I have civ 5 to try out next week. Hopefully its polished a bit better then ewom was at release hehe.

It was already announced last week that they are working on one and it "might" make it into 1.08. How about you start reading some dev journals instead of wasting everyones time with comments for features that MOST of us already know are coming.

Could just go with a fairly standard D20 system for attacks, with given AC's to beat based on the Armor they are wearing, dex etc. (IE D&D style) It would fit with the roleplaying motif and is a fairly easy system to implement as it exists already.Weapon damage could be as simple as Daggers do 1-4+STR modifier, Maces 1-8, etc etc, yes its still a random system but it works very well in certain rpgs and I think it would flow well within our game parameters. Then of c

currently its believed to be a bug. The design is supposed to be that you can build as many troops as you want when you have money, but if you can't pay them they abandon you eventually. (as in you can't afford their upkeep cause you are in the red) Now it works this way properly for the player, but for some reason its not working this way currently for the AI.
