Gorstagg's beta youtube videos might give you a better idea as to what you are getting into. http://www.youtube.com/user/Gorstagg#p/u/15/44TOlnx9N98 and I am being lazy on the link so just copy and paste or go over to youtube and search for Gorstagg.

Geez is this thing heating up or what? Here I have the mental image of maybe 1 or 2 super nerds that want lan parties and they are crawling outta the wood works. Amazing from the outside looking in. I feel like I am watching a bad circus act or maybe at the zoo watching the monkeys fling poo... Ah moments like this remind me why the internet is so grand.
Quoting Frogboy, reply 48 The only downsides are for those users who expect to have 1 license serve all their friends or LANs that have no Internet access at all. Not reasonable for a middle or lower class family where the father has 5 sons and/or daughters above 8 years old... $300.oo just so the family can play the game together... PLUS multiply the cost if they wish to play any expansions released. &nb

I have a gut feeling you don't know what you are talking about, and it will be up to you to pull your head from your arse. Being pro-Stardock doesn't give you a license to insult people.

This is why beta's aren't that great anymore. So many companies have been doing "demo" beta's that you get people dumb enough to not understand that a real beta can't be used to compare to the final product. At least some of them will realize this after the 24th I guess.

*pulls out his day 0 patched version of the game and sees* OH RIGHT.... considering the only people have played the gold version of the game is stardock and even brad says the day 0 version will be much different and better. Your question is akin to asking a vegetarian what the new angus burger at burger king tastes like...
Quoting slimfrog, reply 32Actually I did the same... pre-ordered just to find out that beta seemed to be closed for new buyers I did too. That's quite frustrating. Because I could've easily waited until the 24th to order the game, but I was interested in trying out the beta that I've seen so many times. Now I'm just pissed. Maybe Stardock - or who knows - should put something on the pre-order area about the beta and
Are you sure the updates will require Impulse? Many game manufacturers (e.g., Bethesda and the people who make Dominions) allow direct downloads of patches.
Yep like the above poster said. (I remember you from the sins forums... we had such lovely fights!) You will require impulse for patches, its Stardock's way of fighting piracy while not invading your ability to enjoy their products. Its a good system.
dragoaskani - They did take money if you received the beta. However, you did not receive any goods so they wait to process your order. Alright brad you sold me. I was gonna wait for the Physical version to arrive in the stores and get my copy, but Im heading over to impulse right now to go ahead and preorder. I mainly wanted it for the manual, but since its outdated from beta 3 no sense worrying about that now. At least I get it on the 24th now instead of having to wait till it arrives to a Gamestop here in Missouri. :) *wanders off to preorder* *edit: not charging yet for the preorders? Odd but okay..
Interesting its not on the preorder list as well. Guess they aren't carrying it as one of their intended top performers then...wonder if its on bestbuy.com...
Thank you. My local Walmart isn't going to be carrying it...at least that's what the electronics person said. So I'll do what jparm3rd suggests. Priority mail shouldn't take long.
Even if your walmart doesn't carry it as a standard stock item you could still order it as Site to Store from the walmart.com website ya know? Then you just go to the store and pick it up.
According to the system requirements, the game only needs 2GB of hard drive space. However, Impulse can use up to three times amount this space (2GB to download the initial file, 2GB to extract it, and 2GB to install it...your first 4GB will be freed up after this). That kind of irritates me when wanting to play the Witcher (9GB).
storage is cheap...you can get 1TB for less then 80 bones...
I don't see how the graphics are going to turn this loss into a gain. In general, the people who don't like TBS games are not going to change their mind just because of pretty graphics. I believe that the core of the TBS market, values gameplay over graphics. And if your system won't run the game because of the graphics requirements, there is no gameplay. I don't see 2k netting a gain here.&
13 days to go. And stop rambling about bannings from forums and stuff. that conversation is dead. This is now about 13 days. Puppies, and giant frog dragons eating whining villagers.
