Also in the Dev journal 5 Brad mentions that if your sovereign dies in an assault on an enemy city in enemy territory hes Dead Dead, IE GAME OVER MAN. I don't think the solo sovereign taking over the world without a city is plausible due to that.

You all seem to be overlooking another aspect of tactical battles if they were included in the online multiplayer suit. Griefing. Imagine this. You are forced to watch every battle someone has with the ai, or players. Well imagine the person who finds it funny to drag out EVERY tac battle for as long as humanly possible. (IE not fighting, running away in circles, etc) just to force you to watch their antics. It WOULD happen.

They said the other day they were shutting down beta downloads due to setting up for the real deal. Beta testers will get access again earlier then preorders so you will get access again in a few days I guess since preorders get access Monday. Until then yeah your key is disabled.
