hexs are nice, but they can also be very irritating. TBH, i prefer squares in TBS. Hexs are good for tactical combat where the extra exposure is often very handy. For big empire builders, tiles are nicer even if your land does look a bit blocky.
Civ 5 is going with a 1 Military unit per tile approach supposedly, so the hex tiles will be very strategic with armies and such.

I don't think I woulda been interested in Civ 5 as much till I saw the screen shots. HEX grids for Civ excites me. I know it sounds dumb, but really it allows for such awesome terrain possibilities, not to mention army movements and such. Call me a sucker from the old Mechwarrior Pen and Paper on hex days I guess lol.

Its amazing how much free time I have now when I don't feel I need to be on to raid 3 hours a night 4 nights a week. (not to mention all

Heres my take on it. I was in the Settlers 7 beta test. Its a cute game, I had not a single problem running it. No problems with the save game features, where it saves the games online. Not even any problems with playing really. Though there were a few times where others in the house were using the internet also and my game started slowing down. See thats another thing they don't mention in their PR. If your net starts lagging, your game starts stuttering. (really lame to have happen in a sin

Gal Civ is a fun series, but I won't consider it top of the line. Though I do enjoy my copy of Ultimate its still not as good as my Civ 4: Beyond the sword. At least in the ability to eat up my time. I find I am much more likely to stop playing galciv and find something else to do, then when I play civ. Then again I haven't touched my civ 4 in months and months. I'm getting a new i7 machine in 3 weeks and was gonna install civ 4 on it. With the announcement of civ 5 I find any interes

hey brad, have you guys thought about implementing a weather cycle into the gameworld and how it would affect armies in the field? More specifically things like winter and how it tends to make waging war more difficult on armys. That kinda thing? I don't know if thats even something you are thinking about trying, but the idea sounds like it would fit with elemental. Maybe even some types of magic that can change the seasons. Ya know, turn summer to winter and watch an army that was he

Don't forget we don't get to see the back of it, or the fold out flap. Assuming its going with the flapstyle cover that shows more stuff.
