No for me... still getting CTD and problems reloading saved games.
Anomander
I agree totally... were would the mighty Empires of the British and the Romans be without their military engineers? Also dont forget, along with their constructive capabilities are their DESTRUCTIVE skills. The presence of an engineer unit should hasten the fall of fortresses and cities.
I think naming them after the city (sadly no county) would work really well, add to that their expertise or profession along unit size and with a randomn element. And voila a name. British Military mottos "Be The Best" "The Team Works" "Rise Above The Rest" "Se
Perhaps to make it more popular they should have thought of sticking an 'i' infront. iJpeg [e digicons]:P[/e]
I find some of the names too dangerous to even attempt while eating. Whatever happened to good old fashioned fantasy names? My wife is Basque and I honestly feel even she would struggle at the collection of x's, t's, i's and z's I see. Adiskidegabeko bizitza, auzogabeko heriotza. Whilst strolling around the BETA the other night, who should I come across but myself 'Anomander'! Anyone else met Sovereigns with either weird/wonderful or even famous names?
The PC industry have only really brought it upon themselves, Empire Total War being the perfect example. Never has so much hype been placed on such an average bug ridden game. Full of flaws, so obviously a beta for NTW this game damaged the industry and CA for years to come... It is so obvious that Gaming Houses need the turnover rather than producing a game to be proud of. Why release a game honed when patches and expansions can do the job for you and earn the extra bucks with each r
Hmmm I tend to agree, building housing is probably my least favourite part of the game. Its somewhat tedious, I'd much prefer to concentrate on prestige buildings and let the population expand around it.
I've use both ATI and Nvidia... surely your decision should be base on price and features, rather than who's best. Prior to my current card (ATI 5870 HD) I used a GTX 9800 both have served me well, both were in my price range at the time of purchase. Good luck
*PC gaming to one side You had me there... I thought this was really about 'Old School RPG' I never understand this US confusion with RPGs and Tabletop RPG. The old school RPG I remember was always just pen and paper...never figures.
Fired up the game for the first time last night and noticed almost immediately on the cloth map, some awful graphical tearing when using the mouse to move around the map. I assumed it may be my card, and then forced vertical refresh... it made no difference. Is this a common problem or system related? Attached dxdiag

This may seem like a stupid question... but will I need to do anything my end (in impluse). Like register the product with the order Number sent to me when I pre-ordered?
Have I got my dates wrong or did I read that Stardock would be opening the BETA today, 4th March?
In your Games tab if you have the Show Prereleases/Betas option enabled (and when ready).
Many thanks
Where should the preordered Beta DL appear?
Whatever you choose if the builder of the road is an enemy state, we as the opposition should have the ability to disrupt the construction.
Quoting TheProgress, reply 8 quoting post WHEN can I get into the beta? Officially the answer is Beta 2 which won’t be until mid next month. However, if you have pre-ordered (or plan to pre-order) we may open the beta for one day this next Thursday and let everyone who has pre-ordered the game up till then in so that if we have to delay beta 2, users aren’t having to keep waiti
A very very bold statement.... I've not yet in all my years of gaming, ever come up against WORLD CLASS AI!

Simply Love em! I'm no fanboy, in fact I critised the artwork from day one...but I like the selection presented to us. Great work Stardock, keep them coming. (Hoping to get into the next beta - so cant wait to try them out for size)
Worst case scenario, they can rush release a bit early, and patch it up later. Stardock's earned trust in that area. We wouldn't do that. We'd just delay the release. This game is our baby.
After the Empire:Total War debacle, this is music to my ears.
