I'm actually having the same issue with the upgrade. It shows $20, then becomes $20.51 at checkout (Canadian exchange rate is quite good right now). But the subtotal is $30.77. My previous pre-order included a boxed edition, so I've already paid shipping once. Is the difference in shipping between these two versions really $10 more? Holding off on the checkout until I get this clarified.

By the way your exchange rate are still wrong, 20$=14,69€ not 13,92€.
The exchange rate you see on things like the news is the rate that global currency traders are giving to each other. The rates that stores/banks/paypal/etc give out aren't as good. That is likely the discrepency.
Well, nobody can really predict that. If you're in the US, the price is a pretty standard one for games and likely to remain constant. But if you're concerned about it, I would hold off until release. If you're not in the US, its subject to the currency market and who knows what will happen. :) (At some point after release there will be a sale price. For games, there always is. But that may very well take months before it happens. I ordered my copy months ago and have already
I love ImpulseTV. At least until my wife saw the Kitten Sanctuary one. That cost me money. :P
That is actually the reason why I prefer a game to be unbalanced, it adds a layer of difficulty/diversity, unfortunately I find that is precisely the sacrifice when multi is in the mix...not always, but often. It's very satisfying to play with a team that has a tough period on account of their specific traits and come out on top.
Except when it doesn't. "Balance" doesn't have to mean everything is the same, it means the fac
The price won't be going up at release, most likelyl And retail stores usually offer similar prices because they really hate having to charge more then the digital retailers (the extra money is all profit for the digital distributors, especially since Stardock is both publisher and developer in this case). So you can pick it up where you find it more convenient, though actually finding a PC game in my area is pretty hard given they have half the store devoted to a used game pawn shop.
Hi. :)
This is more of a reflection on a stupid society then the girl doing what she's told. The store has that policy to avoid bad press from puritanical types, not because they want to.

I play games, that's what I chose to do when I picked my class. I can't miss out on AC2...
Sure you can. It's just a game, there are lots of others to spend your money on instead. Buying AC2 just supports this idiotic scheme of Ubisofts. Vote with your wallet, it's more effective th

If your computer is locking up, you probably want to report it. But it sounds like a computer problem, most of us are just having game crash issues and not computer crash issues. Are you using recent Nvidia drivers? The set released most recently has a severe problem with shutting off the fans and cooking video cards. (Good old Nvidia, they can't do anything right lately.)

But for instance while creating my sovereign at the moment I can spend 5 points getting 15 Strength or 0 points to get +8 attack by equiping a broadsword. What I'm saying really is they need to charge for the equipment you start with, just as they charge for stat points, spellbooks, advantages / disadvantages. I agree you should be able to find other equipment in g
A lot of this stuff is just beta 1 problems. Good to bring it up, but don't worry too much over it yet. :) Particularly the balance between space for housing and space for other improvements, that is an area that needs tweaking as things go on.
Oops. DRM servers crash, Assassins Creed 2 is totally unplayable for paying customers. I've heard the cracked version is working fine. This proves just how wrongheaded these schemes are. It's taking the "legitimte version is inferior to the stolen one" to the extreme, in that it flat out doesn't work.
Oops. :)
yea the 32 player part is a bit stupid if they spend to much time on it.
32 players also means 32 players in a single player game, which means 31 AIs. For single player folks wanting huge campaigns and for mod writers, that is a useful number. And since the MP is client/server based, it should scale up player wise a lot more easily then Demigod did.
You must remember Brad said that this game wasn't going to cater to multiplayer whatsoever so it really doesn't matter what happens in multiplayer as it's the single player game that is most important and major balance isn't required (if you ever played MOM you'd know why). Games that are not balanced for multiplayer make the best solo single player games both in skirmish mode and campaign and I wouldn't want them to do anything diffe
If you're asking them, why not ask it in the dev journal posted by them already on this subject? Especially since its already being talked about there? The bottom line is that nobody knows anything. Starting a new thread to ask the same thing again accomplishes nothing except creating forum clutter. Besides, common sense dictates that if it manages to sell out before anybody gets to upgrade, they'll make more of them so people can upgrade. Telling your most fanatical customers that th
That update still isn't up even for those of us with a build already installed. What version number is it showing for you in Impulse?
I know its going to be fixed but do we really have to wait a few weeks?
Yes. At least. :P This is active development. It'll crash and be buggy. Making a stable 1G would require not adding anything new to it for a while, which with the amount of stuff that needs adding before release isn't a good idea.
I play a fair bit of multi...but I have limited interest in Elementals multi, co-op with my partner is about it...she's in the beta already, but I have a feeling in the end we'll play far more single player than multi. The only thing that worries me about multi is if the diversity gets ruined because of the ultimately boring quest for balance, which will turn the game into lukewarm drivel the way it does to every game it locks onto to feed upon.
How/when hasn't been announced yet.
Yes. Not everybody is bothered by the DRM. For those people, there's no reason why it can't be there. For everybody else, Impulse warns you before you buy just what you're getting into, and you can make that decision. At the end of the day Impulse is just a store.

Or, they may just have nothing to say on the subject right now. :)
I don't understand why Stardock is putting any time into multiplayer other than it's expected these days. I play a TON of multiplayer; battlefield, demigod, etc. Recently i've put over 300 hours in LOL. But I will not play one minute of multiplayer in Elemental. How are you supposed to keep people from rage quitting in a game that lasts hours or days when they won't stay in a game of Demigod or LoL that lasts 30 min.
