There's a "charm" spell for luring monsters right now. I haven't seen anything in the game for doing the same with humans, but it's pretty early and there's no reason why such a thing couldn't be added. Either as a spell, or as an ability on a monster unit you can recruit.

Depending on how tactical combat works, you should be able to move units into a formation that you want. Might be nice if there's a way to set it up so that the army automatically deploys in that formation when combat starts, though.
[quote who="the Gorgon" reply="199" id="2574053"]Tridus and Shurdus, on the gold discussion: I came up with this constructive solution, a try to be inventive!: when the game starts, the economy of all civs and all trade is based on barters. (value can still be numerically expressed for the player, but in brackets, or cows! or whatever) The first civ that researches Minting as technology get to name their currency which is then automatically also used as currency name for everyone for the rest
Game saving/loading needs to be solid before it gets my vote, for sure. :)
Most likely, a lot of this will appear once tactical combat is also going to appear, because its going to matter more. The stuff we have right now is a a skeleton, there's a lot of details to be fleshed out. Personally I think it'll be done with things like weapon modifiers and abilities, but we'll see. Don't worry, the final product won't be as simple as it is now.

After all, maybe once the gildar stood for something the people knew and could relate to, but these days the exonomy that the gildar represents is gone. All that remains now is the gold it is made of, the little picture that was made on the coin is useless now. In this context, calling that little coi

Your maximum mana is supposed to be your Essence, so in theory if you have 10 Essence you should regen mana up to that point and be able to cast it. I've never been able to do that either though, so it may be buggy right now. Lots of beta 1 is. :)
1. Beta is currently closed. If you pre-order right now, you will get in when beta 2 starts (tentatively sometime in April). You will also be charged at that point, rather then today. 2. I don't think that's been answered yet, but I'd expect a PDF copy or something, yeah.
I don't really think Talents is a good game currency name. People see that and think of some kind of passive skill they can buy, because thats how the term is used in so many other games. I also don't think given each faction a different currency is a good idea at this point, mostly because doing it right means having things like exchange rates. If you have 10 currencies but they're all worth the same in order to make the game easier to code, then you've really just got one currency w

Also we start to rebuild cities of thousands of people, doing things like mining, smithing, and adventuring. A barter economy wouldn't really work.
Well, first they need to finalize a deal with Intel. Then they need to integrate the 64 bit Havok engine. Then build a 64 bit version that is fit for release to the beta testers. It'll be along sometime before release. Beyond that, I couldn't guess.
