THOSE are the kinds of posts i wanted to omit from the thread.
These lists aren't "objective" for any normal definition of the word. Objectively ranking something requires measurable criteria and has a right and wrong answer. These rankings are based on what the writer thinks is better, and thus are entirely subjectiv

If support does wane for WoM, then how much confidence should I have in FE? If they view the product as a failure, then why should I view WoM or FE any different from them? I am getting a little depressed now. I feel that I am being forced to repurchase the same game.
I look at FE as Elemental's "2.0" update. It's a chance to

If you bought WoM in 2010, you should get FE free. So in that sense it won't matter because it won't cost you more money to get the new version. They've said that WoM will still be supported alongside FE. TBH, I don't believe it. I believe that they honestly have that intention, but it's not going to last in the face of the reality that FE will probably be the better game and will be the one that gets marketing attention (if they do a marketing push). Once they diverge signifi

I'm pretty sure there was a sale at one point, but the game is selling on its own right now so there's no need for one. Also, FE is going to be the version to own anyway once it comes out.

If your essence isnt higher than the casting value of a spell, you cannot cast it. Mana per combat is limited by essence. Essence can be spent on certain persistent world upgrade spells and super-high level magic. Essence higher than required for spells eithe rmakes them more mana efficient (maintenance), cheaper to cast, or cas

That said, I'll be doing a proper "Raven Reviews" some time tonight or early in the morning going into detail about the Few things the game does right, and more importantly the Many things the game does Wrong... However, they are nothing a like thematically and do not work out the same. Essense as implemented originally makes it a great idea to imbue everyone, while (according to one post in this thread) global mana as it is now makes it a bad idea to imbue people at all (particularly early in the game). Metacritic user reviews ALWAYS have that same issue, and you don't normally see a gap this wide between critics and users (and you don't normally see user reviews this low). I
By the very nature of DLC, the content available in DLC must go down, meaning less bang for the buck. If only five hundred people buy the DLC @ $5.00 you will have (at most) 2,500 dollars to spend on its development. If one thousand buy, you will have 5,000. You lose the scale of economy. How do you convince 10,000 people to buy (for example) your New Pony Models Superpack? Does that market even have 10,000 potential customers?
I'm not a fan of DLC

I'd love to see X Wing and Tie Fighter tied into a new game on one of the current gen consoles. Playing X Wing over Xbox Live would be something - I can't think of any decent space based simulators on XBox anyway. I'll always prefer it on PC, but

That number sounds like it's using bad measurement to me. if I'm playing a LAN game, how do they know? If I play SP once and then only play MP for two years, am I still counted as buying the game for SP? Numbers can be twisted for all kinds of fun things. A month after Civ 5 was out, more then half the people who bought it still hadn't earned an achievement for completing a single game. Does that mean SP is only played by 50% of customers? I doubt it. As for the poll (and any poll on

Might have worked, if it was a new game. There is ZERO chance I pay extra for a MP mode in Elemental that I already paid for unless I have an iron clad guarantee that it's going to be supported on-par with the SP game and not as the basement dwelling red-headed stepchild that it is right now.

It does not however prove that the implementation of such functionality is desired by the vast majority of users, nor does it prove that the implementation of such functionality would

If it's so rarely used that it's not worth focusing on, why is it worth coming up with a different version of the game for that nobody wants in the first place? <p

"Look at my ranking, now my forum posts will be taken seriously when I call everyone else noobs!" People do this in WoW too, but it never works out well for them because in the end they're easy to spot. They try to join a raid guild with their fancy gear, die 15 times in their first raid, and get a reputation on the server for being a moron. Then they have to pay to server tranasfer and try again.
