So I had this champion called Joffrey. We went to fight some spider, and he died :( But he still gained a level and I could give him a point in some stat. I don't think it made him feel any better, what with him being dead and all.

I got three levels after killing a sandgolem leader with my sovereign and the two starting units. Those golems are wussies now :P Would be fun if the exp was somehow beneficial for the non-champion units too..
Looks like at least for me opening any unit's info page makes the problem go away once it has happened. Has worked 100% so far for me.
I might be wrong, but isn't debug.err only created if the game crashes? I didn't try restarting, but if this happens again I'll try it first!
I can report this happens in the new version (0.803) too, I guess I should make a new thread for it? Started a game, clicked kingdom info and there it is. Funnily enough it disappeared when I opened the info screen for one of the sentinels you now get at the start, so it's not so annoying anymore.

You have an ATI gfx card too? I tried disabling all the graphical settings I could, didn't help. Now it's started to look like this also: Going to the kingdom info screen is the crucial thing here, it's always the trigger for me. I can still play fine from the cloth map, it's "just" the 3D engine that's affected.
Reinstalling the game helped for that minimizing at startup problem. I'm just gonna avoid minimizing it when it's loading from now on...
Great, it seems that this messed up the whole game for me now :( Whenever I try to start it now it minimizes itself straight to the task bar and stays there.
It seems doing this completely freezes a saved game for me. It doesn't even say "Not responding" in task manager, doesn't crash or anything, but I'm just unable to get back to the game. I've waited for over five minutes (ten times longer than it usually takes to load) and nothing. Happens with every save I've tested so far. Here's my dxdiag: http://pastebin.com/TrCisSUf
I'm actually still on 10.3 drivers (lazy me). I was about to update, but I guess that won't necessarily help either :( This sounds very similar to what you describe, yeah. For me every time it happens it's when going to the research screen, unit designer, dynasty screen, kingdom report, etc. Then I have to keep restarting the game until it doesn't happen.
Sorry, I'll try to remember only one bug per thread :( Just wanted to add that the first one is very much repeatable for me, happens in every game at some point.

It happened after I had gone to the kingdom menu and came back to the game, had to restart to get back to normal. After that one time it didn't happen again so far, at least not as bad as this. After getting the game to work thanks to windowed mode, I just finished my first game with victory in about 220 turns :) No crashes whatsoever, glad to see the stability has been improved dramatically. Some odd graphics etc. bugs, which I'll report in the appropriate place. Just wanted to say good job guys [e digicons]:grin:[/e] Next up: Time to try that multiplayer! The little X didn't do anything last night, but now I ran the game with the /w parameter suggested by Frogboy in another thread, and somehow that's fixed all the issues I had so far :) Options, new game, everything works now. Weird stuff.
Well I finally managed to get a 1vsAI game going, but when it loads up all I see is this: I can't get rid of that book. My mouse seems to do nothing, but when clicking the keyboard I can apparently do something, I see some movement around the edges of the book. Very annoying to say the least. Looking very, very good :) Modding and editing are one of the true joys, and unfortunately these days too rare, delights of PC games (for me at least).
Sounds good mostly. As for the questions, I think there should be some kind of turn limit, after which the battle ends in a draw. But the amount of turns it requires should be enough that it happens rarely and would pretty much just be there to prevent endless battles. And randomized battlefields please. Even if you make hundreds of different premade ones, I'll guarantee you it won't be enough with the amount we'll be playing :)
