*Casts "resurrect thread"* I downloaded the demo after yesterday's glowing review at http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/03/08/dins-curse-review/ and damn this game seems fun! Only played the demo a bit so far (one character to lvl 6) but I'm already seriously thinking of buying this. First I thought it's "just" hack n' slash, but then I realized that this game actually reminds me of the good old Ro

I used to be a TF 2 fanboy. Then they introduced that hat store, or "money maker" as I believe Valve calls it...
First of all big thanks for including the option to alter the turn timer or turn it off completely, multiplayer in Elemental is now 200% more fun :) But I've noticed a few annoyances: 1. I built an ancient temple but it had no effect on my arcane knowledge. 2. When the turn timer was turned off, the game once got stuck in a state where I couldn't click end turn anymore even though all the other players had finished their turns. Which brings me to my next point... 3. Ov
I can't remember the last time Elemental crashed for me. Like many have said, technically it has improved a lot :) Hopefully this means Stardock can start concentrating more on new content ( but not forgetting those who still have technical issues of course).
I think it's mostly a matter of personal taste :) I like the new art because in my opinion it gives the game some much needed personality.
So is the thing I reported also related to the dodge? If so it is very confusing at the moment, I'd like it more if it displayed something like "dodge!" on top of the target instead of the damage (not) done. Also dodging magic arrows doesn't quite seem right.
The damage reports in combat are screwed up for me. For example, when my sovereign with 23 intelligence uses arcane arrow, that should do 75% or caster's intelligence in damage, against a bear, it shows I'm doing 5 damage. That's not exactly 75% of 23, but to make it worse the bear only takes 2 damage! The bear had 1 magic resistance, so that shouldn't really factor in, right? Also I got this brigand archer as a reward for city leveling up and when he shoots someone, it always shows him doing
Wow, this great news! You couldn't have picked a better guy for this :)
I'll second what many have already said: Please give us more options for multiplayer. Seriously, that way you don't have to worry about people being too upset. Let us choose if we want to have tactical battles on or off (it's been done in other games, totally possible) The multiplayer in AoW: Shadow Magic could be a good inspiration here [e digicons];)[/e] And my no.1 wish of them all: Please add an option to change the time it takes for the turn to end onc
I think it's very likely that it's just a PR stunt. Quite bold and strange one, bound to piss many people off.
I got mine in Finland 1,5 weeks ago.
Agreed, it's very poor design, making the games too hectic and with possibilities to purposefully annoy other players :( Hopefully there will be options to choose a set time limit in the future.
Even though it's not your main focus, I for one hope multiplayer will get some love :) I already really like how easy it is to just start playing it. And I understand the possibilities to save games, have AI opponents and fight tactical battles are coming at some point? One other thing: It would be nice to be able to choose a set length for turns, ie. turn lasts 1 minute or other amount of your choosing (of course ending quicker if everyone presses "end turn" before that). The current system
Nice :) I too have been annoyed by the lack of horsies on some maps.
Some people were wondering what's supposed to make Elemental special. I think we have the answer here :)
I think ShadowSneak wants to develop a mod about mercenaries (dogs of war), not war dogs
Hmm, the mages would make more sense in that case, yeah [e digicons]:([/e] Maybe the mercenaries could have a kennel with (fire-breathing) war dogs?
Doggies :) Sounds good, I hope your plan will succeed! Especially the dog mages, they'll kick ass! [e digicons]:dog:[/e]
Even my old computer now gets 20 fps when viewing cities :) That's good enough for me.
Thanks for the informative post. If I may, here is my feedback: - Why are you guys still reinventing the wheel for MP? Creating a MP spellbook (no tactical spells, but I thought Brad said you guys had reversed you position on including them in multiplayer?)? Changing tech trees? Guys, just get the base game to an awesome state, and that's what people are going to want to play in MP.

I thought that was supposed to happen already. e.g., if the heir is part of your faction, you get control of all their cities immediately. Maybe it's buggy? (haven't been able to test it yet)
Really? I've never seen it happen, so if it's supposed to be there I guess it's bugged. Or I've just been killing heirless sovereigns all this time... (unlikely) Has anyone had this happen? Really nice if it's already there and "ju
What's also interesting that in AoW 1 when a faction leader died, that faction was defeated instantly! Though there it didn't matter where the leader was killed, so it was rather worse than this. (AI was also very poor and never improved. Stardock can easily do better ;) )
That sounds a lot like wizard towers in AoW 2 and Shadow Magic :) Me like.
The whole sovereign dying causing insta-loss thing has to go, it's just too easy to abuse against the AI. Take nearby city, kill sov, empire eliminated.
This is a big problem atm :( I made a couple of suggestions to fix it here https://forums.elementalgame.com/393275 Right now you pretty much have to let enemy sovereigns wander around freely unles
I think the whole feature of faction being immediately destroyed when their sovereign is defeated on foreign territory is making the game too easy atm :( I had a fun game going on Ridiculous difficulty, with the AI having so much troops that it was actually challenging! But then the poor bastard decides to make a countryside journey with his combat rating 200 army right through my territory. I teleport my combat rating 1000 army next to him, and there goes his 10+ city empire and count
Well good to hear the problem is now clear :) I'm sure you guys will have it solved soon!
