Recently, in the 'True Face of DRM' thread, it has been said that at some point Frogboy said that all saves would reside on Stardock servers. I don't remember Brad saying this, however, I can imagine at a time(when Demigod was having terrible multiplayer problems) that it might have been included in Brad's rant about how Elemental will have a client/server model and not have problems like Demigod did. It's also possible that it's all a misunderstanding. So, straight up...will Elementa

Stardock is letting EVERYONE who has preordered in at Beta 2. They're thinking about letting people who've already preordered get into this next beta since it will probably be a while before Beta 2.

While I've heard Frogboy mention that the Kumquat engine could be programmed to run RTS and action games, but adding it into the main game is likely low of thier priority list.

Yes, if catch any of the developers who frequently browse the boards than you can almost always get a direct response from one of them.

Reply to Cloth map? in War of Magic

The cloth map is feature that kicks in when you zoom out to a certain level. Stardock has said that your comp power will determine when the regular graphics go away and the cloth map kicks in, and if you have a crap PC you could play the entire game on it. It is basically a 2D representation of the map that looks like it is an old cloth map, hence the name. Here is the the cloth map. <a href="https://ww

There are only 2 factions, but 10 races. No, a faction is another name for "playable side". Like Human in WarCraft III or Norse in Age of Mythology. Frogboy Elemental has 10 default factions There are 5 races of “Men” and 5

This isn't Ubisoft. Internet will only be required to play multiplayer over Stardock's servers and to update the game. If you want to play single player or LAN you won't need to be connected to the internet. EDIT: You CAN update your game if you don't have the internet on the same PC as you do the game, but can use the internet somewhere else, it's just a little more complicated then just opening Impulse and clicking update. I've never actually done it, so I'm not too sure on the deta

Are you trying to get banned? Or do you not care anymore(assuming you did to begin with)? One developer asked you to 'please go away' and another locked your post because it was redundant and becoming a flame war. If you're so worried about amimations, come back near release and take a look if they're up to your standards. Obviously you can't understand that people's OPINIONS can vary, so please, just go away like Istari asked.

They don't like Stardock anymore because of Gamestop's mistake (released it earlier), and are publishing through Square Enix and using Steam, snubbing Stardock and Impulse. If Gamestop didn't fuck up we may have seen a Stardock published Supcom. Steam is irritating because it has to be running to run your games. That isn't so wi

Elemental is a turn-based strategy game. From what I can gather in your post(it's very difficult to read with no line breaks between paragraphs) you're worried about long matches, which is generally an intergral part of TBS games. It takes time to develop an empire from nothing and defeat all others. I can't imagine any size map in Elemental taking less then a few hours to complete.

Im certainly a skeptic to AGW, but the most ignorant and annoying thing to say to disprove climate change is 'its cold now so global warming isnt happening'. Climate change is not a uniform increase in temperatures, its a rapid(much faster than average) change in climate, which is not weather!
