Okay so the game mechanics have been tightened, but what about the graphics on level3? And reviewers will get the version we have, not the RTM.

I have a variety of axes at my disposal and yet all those damn trees are only vulnerable to magically induced climate change. Let me build some kind of tree chopping unit. Low yield results of course, maybe a chance of disturbing a wolf's den or spiders nest when I send them out. I have a long history of virtual deforestation that I would like to continue here.

Thinking about getting started on my new PC build and a couple of things caught my eye while poking around at Newegg. I saw a few 2gig video cards that are not dual GPU , so that's a considerable amount of video memory available. I remember stepping up to 512 on Civ4 helped a little when looking around the map. When it comes to CPUs I'm torn between a 6 core AMD chip, or a 4 core Intel chip with HT. Now when the 64bit edition is released
Will we be able to define things such the map grid size in python? This thread about changing the city building grid to smaller 3x3 tiles instead of 2x2 is something I'd really like to try.
Memory usage seems to be spiking for me as well. It's not consistent either. I've had a few games get to 1 town and and a couple fo dozen turns before the OoM crash, 2 others have made it to the hundreds with multiple towns. [e digicons]
Yeaaah I don't normally jump on the bandwagon for these sorts of threads buuuuuuuut... Thanks. Especially for the night you guys put in for the release of 3b. And for having so many out spoken employees. It's nice to know about the team of people who are toiling away so I can waste an afternoon in my pj's getting yelled at by the gf.

Same thing here.
I dont see anything about fixing squads of guys going down like 1 dude :(
I've thought about this as well. You wouldn't be reducing the amount of buildings, or the sense of presence on the map that makes them "awesome". You'd just be using the same number of smaller tiles. Even on larger maps it feels like I'm playing on a kind of small island and not a continent. Breaking the city grid up further and adding more space between them would definitely help with that. It would also open room for addons to resources like a little farming village, or
There really ought to be some hot lava spewing action going on if you lower the rim of a volcano. Maybe enough to set a few tiles ablaze before it becomes just a big mountain . As you can see my attempt to recreate Pompeii was hampered by lack of this.
I hope they get companies and the like sorted in 3C. Kind of annoying to have spent a lot of res on a unit of ten guys only to have them go down all at the same time >_
3C still coming out today?
What we said was that you wouldn't be training flying units. We have flying units (i.e. over mountains and water).
Ehhh...Over mountains? Say I wanted an observation balloon that could go over small mountains but not a big one, will we be able to set a maximum Z height if we were to put our own units in the game?
Alright...I tried to let it grow on me, but after receiving a box from fed-ex, I cant stop thinking that the entire thing is located on corrugated cardboard. I just noticed the minimap button, and again...holy crap it looks like such a step backwards from the one in the OP. Why Stardock? WHY?????
I've played dozens of games in the beta and those indicators still don't catch my eye, my cities will go many turns idling because I forgot to check on them. I wish there was an option to just leave the units their tiny normal size until we zoomed out to the cloth map for the switch to the statues. No matter what scaling option I select, I find the effect very off putting, even with scaling off, everyone stays 40 feet tall.
