Fit the theme of Elemental, that they felt uniquely at home in the world we were creating. Specifically the creatures were flawed or broken in some way. 10 years? I feel so old D:

Hire this man. Right now.
Larger than the default large. Elemental feels so much smaller than what I'm use to from the genre. The large elemental maps feel like crowded medium sized Civ maps and small Galciv maps.
I don't know where you got that percentage (94.37% chance its made up on the spot, though not necessarily by you)
Well unless Steam is lying to Valve... And I wasnt suggesting they dont do 32 bit; though I am still wondering about that 64bit build and who's playing Elemental on what. I also don't understand why the game doesn't have the LAA flag turned on, it seems to solve most of my OOM issues.
There are actually quite a few "major games" that have released with 64bit. Not one that's ever actually needed it though. 45% of computers on steam are running 64 bits OS's, excluding macs. Did anyone at stardock tally the 64bit vs 32 systems during the Beta? If you were to weed out the majority of MomPCs from the steam numbers you could very possibly have a majority in the 64bit category.
Sword of the Stars had a frustratingly awesome random research set up. "Please great Carl Sagan in the sky let phasers unlock after this." If they didn't it was set up so another research would have another chance to unlock them. Games were vastly different each time because of that. If I remember, you could even set up special missions to teach a tech to some one else if they didn't unlock it in their tree.

To this day, I feel like AoW:SM is the weakest of the AoW series. Honestly, the random spell thing was super annoying, and while you may have a point that it forced you to tailor your strategy, it was also possible to find yourself severely outmatched simply because of luck. Comparing Elemental and AoW:SM seems
1: Equipping Heroes/Kids: Too much clicking involved. Open shop, double click and scroll a dozen times, exit, go to equip screen, click a dozen times, scroll twice. Now I generally hate to see the word streamlined used anywhere but, how about streamlining this process so that double right clicking buys&equips in one go? 2: Auto Loot/Auto Kill that bandit molesting my caravans: GalCiv had an automated function for automagicaly probing anomalies, and right now my heroes are mostly h
You should bring this back :P
Personally the less I know about FE the better. I basically purchased WoM for every feature that got cut. The base game is still dull, but, as mentioned the Updated Weapons Mod is really really really good. I'd always just auto resolve the battles with only 1 type of unit making up most of my army, but now I usually fight them out using a mix of weapons.
Yeah, just imagine how I feel [e digicons]X|[/e] the only reason I preordered was because at one point Real Time Tactical battles were a thing and I loved those in Sword of the Stars, simple as they were. The updated weapons mod does a good job of keeping things interesting though.
This is pretty neat. I hope you get around to the other 3 types.
The editors don't seem like much of a priority. I'm starting to view E:WoM as just a really long loooong beta for FE.
Last night we had a fair amount of snow, enough for me to call into work, so I busted out AoW:Shadow Magic to see if it holds up to to the infamous rose colored nostalgia glasses...and it does. It had such beautiful maps, city sieges were a different type of battle all together, and the magic spells are sweeping, the differnt races, neutral cities, recruiting camps, game changing things that made the world more than a pretty map. Then I fired up Elemental... My only plea is that every
16. Since spells are capped at level 5, you are no longer given the choice to keep going up in spell level once you reach that max. *Erm...what if i have level 6 spells modded in? Another thing has been bothering me... if I'm at war, and take out an enemy's resource, and place my troops on it, they seems to be able to just build right under my troops feet. Is this intended? I also don't see any mention of Fog
So I capture a city by accident that I don't want. I raze it, move all the units out of the area and poof the Fog of War is still lifted at that location. This only happens when its razed, if I let the computer capture it, then the FoW returns to normal. This is nearly identical to a bug that made galciv2 so frustrating late game and never got fixed. How much code did you guys recycle? (not being a smart ass or a jerk but asking out of genuine curiosity)
The AI is almost certainly putting up a better fight, but that means I must do more, and that means more everything, so I've been hitting the memory wall pretty hard and fast. So are we ever going to get that 64bit exe?
Stability has been much better, gameplay is pretty good, but it's still far far to easy to simply walk all over the AI. A recent update, either T or U managed to break the map editor's load map function for me which is a huge bummer, I've spent about 15 hours on a map, and now I can't load it in to finish it up.
Was working just fine until these last 2 updates, now I cannot load any map into the editor, it can still create new maps just fine though. This is kind of an annoyance -_-
They post almost everyday about what they are working on, and discuss things brought up in threads. Things I've seen mentioned since the last patch: graphical performance improvements(a big one), general fixes to incorrect or misleading information, more stability fixes, and they are still tracking down a memory leak I think.
Another option that is missing: Dont design units for me! Every time I retire a game designed unit, and discover a new warfare tech, it suggest another unit with the exact same name again. This is annoying.
Quoting Cruxador, reply 7 Well, maybe it should. As far as I know, there is no major 4x game in the US catering to loli enthusiasts. They made Elemental because there wasn't a fantasy one, and that market at least has some old games. You are joking, right?
Nah dude, its a good concept. See we just change the title of the game to Elementary: War Of Schools and you play the role of the 6th grade class rep at an all
