I'm not sure about this, it just seems that Channelers wouldn't live normal lives.
agree 100%. If you really were a being of mystical energy that people of the time don't understand because their history has been destroyed, people would look at you in disgust, fear, or disdain. You wouldn't be the happy go lucky farmer, woodcutter or miner who just decides to get up one day and rule a nation. Sorry, but that just seems cheesy and a half. I wouldn't mind having backgroun
I like organic roads but I am really fine with being able to paint them down, I just hope the cost is high enough that roads are only put down where they make sense. I think top quality roads you would only have between the major cities, with dirt roads and trails off to the smaller settlements. In Civ in the late game having the world be an asphalt jungle kinda made sense because by then you are in a modern setting. For the fantasy setting, I think few roads is good, and reall

Played a game this morning, gotta go to work soon but Im still having trouble with blackened out pictures of units and sovereigns in this build. I'll make a post later. Overall, I just can't get into it. [e digicons]:'([/e] It (and all the predecessors) doesn't run fluid at all, and all the animations skip. I'm not complaining per say cuz I know its called a beta and its not supposed to be fun.. but I can't even enjoy the customization options because I have to wait like
I like the idea of drit trails/roads growing organically and giving minimal bonuses.
I like this too. A road should grow based on how much it is used, giving it more bonuses making it easier to travel on (travel farther on more advanced roads) However, to create them, I think roads should be able to be drawn on the map, like if we were using paint (or click and drag). To be able to craft roads around mountain ranges, rivers, and such if we wish (it would provide

yea.. I'm scared to go off to college [e digicons]:\[/e] because I don't want to be spending that insane amount of cash on things I may never get a job from, or may not be good enough at to actually have any sort of career at all.. I just don't know what to do because the world is screaming "Go to college!!" but it seems more like a gamble than an investment imo.. Especially these days...
Should also say that I wanted to get into Dom 3 on account of other buzz like the OP here and the AAR it mentions. Lots of the Dom 3-inspired talk around here suits my tastes very well.
Yea, I agree here completely. The game seems like something I would really be interested in. With the complexity and immersion possibilities I see I think I would really enjoy it. However, I have to agree with what has been said by many here so far: the demo doesn't he

I've played the demo, never could get into it because of the graphics (or was it the interface?). I love Master of Magic for goodness sake so I know it can't be graphics alone that turned me off from it. But I have to say, this makes me want to give it another shot. I think its because I never knew you could set up your troops before the battle, and have your pretender forge items and the like. I know Elemental isn't going the way of this game, with the complexity and all, but I think it woul
Something being gamey is a GOOD thing!
No, it's not. This works me up because its a comment I don't like. Balance can be done with anything, regardless of whether the system is "gamey" or not. Gamey is referring to something that is obviously unrealistic to the point that immersion takes a hit. I'll agree that complete realism is not necessary. But there needs to be enough for the player to be immersed and feel that they are part of an actua

So I jussst found out that there is an official Dragon Age for intel based macs.. When I read it was released on december 21st I felt like I'd lost my mind. How could I be that far behind on the down low(d) yo? [e digicons]8C[/e] But now I have another silly question (bare with me, I'm not too Mac inclined yet...). It says it requires OS X 10.6.2 and I'm currently running on version 10.5.8 on my macbook... Do I have to upgrade to snow leopard (spend $29) in order to run Dragon Age? Or

Maybe I'm a sucker, but I'll be buying Civ V even though I wasn't that impressed with Civ IV. I've purchased every civ game (not including expansions) except for Civ 2 and Revolution (which I don't even consider a Civ game [e digicons];P[/e] ) and have been upset with their steep fall into cartoony art style.. However, I'm really glad to see this because at least right now the design seems to be a step far away from that unfortunate norm. Now don't get me wrong, there's a difference between

I never played magic the gathering, but my cousin had like a million cards. When I was young I would sit and look at all the pictures. I was fascinated and disturbed by the pictures I saw all at the same time (some were very creepy to a 7 year old lol) But it always did look pretty cool, and I wish my cousin wouldn't have gotten rid of them because maybe he could sit down and show me how the magic worked!
Is it just me, or does it seem like houses are a waste to build?
Currently you have to build snake cities to connect to resources which I hate without end.
As do I [e digicons]:|[/e] unfortunately it seems math is the only way to describe possible ways for games to be made. And I'm terrible at math... I can say that i want city building to be a naturally occurring thing, where cities develop realistically (since we are going for a living breathing world here) but no one seems to know how to accomplish that. Auto upgrade? [e digicons]8(|[/e] so no flowing cities where the balance of rich and poor is different? At least when cities were just one tile we had room to let our imagination do the work.... I don't mean to sound like a stick the mud, I really don't, because I want this game to be the greatest. I just don't see why if there's focus being given to Citybuilding, why isn't directed towards making it more engaging and immersive? From what I read above it sounds incredibly gamey, especi
