I was agreeing with you up until your FOX News comment. HELLO CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC are nothing but liberal propaganda rags. They wouldn't know real news if it hit them in the face. *ROFL* FOX "News" isn't news at all. It's opiniotainment. That's why on my agenda the station is called FOX Opiniotainment.
Quoting Bellack, reply 141 However in this day and age of PC gaming the masses will not forgive a 'botched' release. This is patently untrue. Some games with horrid releases go on to be massive successes, the most famous being WoW - their release was a real stinker, but the game was fun and addictive once they solved all the server issues and inital game-breaking
My biggest problem with the article is the quote he took out of context. Qt3 isn't just some random site. It's my home away from home.
Quoting Bellack, reply 159 That is why I said there should be minumum damage based on what the max damage is. So your right 1d100 would be bad but 60d100 or 70d100 would be fine. Ok, I think you confused some concepts which in turn made me misunderstand you. 70d100 means 70 100-sided dice. It means a result between 70 and 7000.
I'm sorry I did kinda typed that
Yes, combats can be messy but there's always a minimum amount of skill your soldiers have and this is a strategy game, where obscene amount of randomness are frustrating. Random results, while good, should always be in moderation. Doing 77-100 is OK. Doing 1-100 isn't. Doing 77 means that your dragon did a glancing blow, while doing 1 damage means your dragon's pinky claw hit them on their ear. It's a bit silly. The problem is that it seems
Quoting wesleyshaver, reply 139 There is a simple way to solve the problem with wildly random damage and attack rolls. All rolls should be based on coinflips. Instead of using 1d30 like it is currently a roll should use 15d2. Problem solved. This is basic game design, how it escaped the supposedly "strategy" devs is beyond me. Wildly random rolls isn't strategy it's luck. Inci
Congratulations on release day! (although a lot of work remains to get the game into the shape we want it). Two important points (of view) on the tactical combat: 1. like many have said, please lower the spread of damage possible, it is just too random, which sooner or later becomes seriously annoying when bad luck messes up your master plan. 2.
