In AOW:SM this use to happen to me all the time. One time we had a 6 way tactical battle which was a blast. I really hope that this will happen in Elemental.
Remember this is not thier first time doing this. They have done the beta just like this on thier previous titles and they came out pretty good. The only thing that they can do to make this better is to give me the game and book for free right now. :)
Lol Obsidian isn't that the one who did something stupid with the NWN's engine? Didn't they do like NWN's 2? It was a horrible mess. Or maybe they are the ones that did RTW and it was a horrible mess as well.
How was NWN2 a horrible mess? I thought is was much better than NWN1 which was a good game too. However NWN2 came out with the expansion that allowed you to run a whole party which I loved and had been waiting on for

Could someone recreate Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic? What would you want to create about Age of Wonders:Shadow Magic? It's already been done with Master of Magic. Now Ultima IV that's a different story and a well written one at that. I could see it getting modded and remad
For what it's worth, Elemental has sufficient pre-orders such that it'll break even on August 24th.
I'm still debating if I should upgrade to the limited edition or buy the book. Decisions ...decisions.

And in addition it'll make the combats close to real one. The only question is X? How many of X combat turns/general game turn? Maybe - 24 - like hours/day?!
And MoM, of course. Elemental is not a remake of MoM, but I guess something like it can be done as a mod.
Well Along the same lines I would like to see Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic redone. This is what I was hoping Elemental would do but it is close.
I have looked on steam but it is not there. This is a fake.
Quoting dragoaskani, reply 27 Civ 5 has very modest requirements, dual core systems were available in 05, you can't expect pc developers to keep building for antiquated technology. If you don't have a dual core or better its time to either upgrade or stop calling yourself a gamer. Civ5's specs might be modest in relation to contempory games of other genres. But for the game of Civilization, th

I like how your having marriage be more like it use to be back in Medievaltimes and before which had nothing to do with love. Most people these days don't seem to know that marrying someone due to romantic love was a relatively new concept. Looking forward to the game.
To me the trees/bushes look better on the right but the people look better on the left. Now all in all I don't like the animation in the game but I think if I can combine the two (soft for the plants and sharp for the People/monsters/buildings) then maybe it won't have that anime look which I don't care for. But it is not bad enough to annoy me and the gameplay as well as the cloth map is good.
I have a request, could you please put in better explanations as to what each option is when we mouse over them. Because some are just not too clear (actully most are not.)
AOW:SM had a simultaneous turn-based option for multi-player and it worked great even in Eight player games on Large maps (the only type we ever played.) Now I don't mind the traditional non-simultaneous turn-based option in TBS tactical ombat as long as I can watch the battles take place even if I'm not controlling any sides.

Very exciting!
Have a question, which box set will have the novel in it that the campaign is based on?
Well I just got Mount and Blade Warbands this weekend. I think that will hold me over until that magical day comes when Elemental finally comes out. But then once Elemental comes out on the 24th poor Mount and Blade will go to the selve to collect dust.

Still, the screenshots/text posted I think makes it fairly clear that it's more or less basic text editing. Quest making is a little more involved because you have objectives and conditions and can stack them on, but still.
Stop referring to XML as "programming". It is most certainly not. It's basic text editing with tags to tell you what each "field" does.
See some of us didn't know that which is the point. It looks like programming to me.
Quoting awuffleablehedgie, reply 42 I would assume point-based would be the in-game UI (assuming there is one...), or there could be a checkbox that controls whether or not the faction is restricted to a certain amount of points or subsets of abilities (call it "multiplayer compatible"). There would have be a form of verification, of course. That would make sense.
If the point-based faction creator is the only option, I wouldn't like that any more than people now liking xml as the only option. If that's the way MP needs to work - fine, but if I play SP game, I don't want using the points to be the only way to make factions. Has nothing to do with hacking in uber swords, imo. It has to do with how many options and what not would be available for modding factions. If I want to create
