At least that's my theory based upon the existence of "spouse units" in the CoreUnits.xml file and the fact that I've seen kids born within the very first few turns of the game. [quote who="Werewindlefr" reply="78" id="2754109"]So, there's a lot of improvement, but there's still quite a lot to be done. Balance, for instance, isn't fully achieved yet: hammers are slightly too good, bows are terrible and too pricey. Lord of Ice is insanely overpowered: it's a low-mid level summon that's as strong as a whole army. It's a one-elemental panzer division. 68 attacks? Yeah... right. Too hard? Are you playing Elemental? I have not had this "problem" yet. But I wish I did. Seriously, you think this is hard or are you just being sarcastic?

I bought the original and one of the upgrades but without random maps I quickly lost interest. Seems like an odd game to have random maps, it's a campaign/story game rather then a sandbox 4x game. And Stardock is one of those companies that will continue to work on their product (not all companies do this after maybe one or two patches.) However this trend in the g

[quote who="_PawelS_" reply="20" id="2751173"]It's true that Civ5 doesn't have tactical battles, but I think the combat will be much more interesting than in the previous Civ games because of the 1 unit per hex rule - no more stacks of doom, and the terrain will be more important in warfare. I think the entire map will work as something like one big tactical combat. I love AoWSM, but sometimes it's good to play other games to "extend your horizons". Seems we're getting offtopi

[quote who="Tridus" reply="8" id="2750213"]Agree with OP's points, totally 100% agree in the case of #1. That's the single biggest problem with the game right now. The system is so wildly unpredictable that any reasonable attempt at strategy or balance just doesn't work. Make a bunch of guys with maces and you destroy everything. And if they die? Just make more. Champions are much harder to build up, more fragile, and far harder to replace. What I'd add to the lis

What they should do in combat is run it like D&D. When you attack you roll a d20 then you add what your attack bonus is to that roll. This is then compared to the defenders Armor Class which is not a roll. Then if your score equals or exceeds the Armor Class you hit and then roll damage. Now in Elemental what you could do is run the attack roll just like I described above. But the Defense could be done in two ways: 1) Have a set number which is affecte

Hey Raven I have two questions: 1. Did you ever play AOW:SM? 2. And if so did you ever make a DL mod for it. They did have Draconians in the game and all the other races that would be needed for DL. Just curious because if so then I wouldn't mind looking it up and downloading it.

Good work Team DragonLance. DL is also my Favorite fantasy trilogy and funny enough LOTR trilogy which open the door for me as far as Fantasy goes paved the way for DL. I have played all the DL modules in D&D and still have them in storage. Can't wait for this mod to come out. By the way there was one decent DL TBS game from a long time ago. It was SSL War of the Lance. Use to play that game for hours. It is of corse dated now.

I like the initutive idea. And I would like to see Heros give some Leadership bonuses to the stack they are attached too. But I would not want it where that each army must have a hero leader. A hero leader should give bonuses to the troops in the stack based on Charisma and any special abilities that mught apply.

I'm still playing AOW1 and AOW:SM (Lets face it AOW2 just had to many problems) as well as playing Elemental. I am still hoping that Elemental will replace AOW:SM as my main fantasy TBS. I think it will be many months before it gets to that point but the game is still fun to play. And I like the fact that it is easier to mod than AOW:SM.
