The whole tactic is a little "starcrafty" for my tastes. I personally would want to get away from having specific "builds" and more to having Grand Strategies. I think Elemental's scaling will allow for both kinds of games, I hope.

A really complex social model. You have a vast empire with hundreds of thousands of souls. There are ambitious nobles. Angry peasants. Greedy merchant guilds. Corrupt churches. And you in the middle, trying to play them against each other in an effort to stay in power. Oh shit... mod idea...

I'm glad the concept of diplomatic capital is in the game. Now, however, I'd love to lobby for a lot more diplomatic options, only because there's an entire diplomacy tree that is currently quite bare. Some ideas: Forcing AI players to cancel deals with other empires. Ability to negotiate with adventurers, giving you an opportunity to steal them. Vassalizing opponents, breaking cities into vassals, etc. Ultimatums & Threats M

Hoooo boy.... what an idea. It's like a Super Smash Brawl for Strategy games. Lessee... I guess the first thing that comes to my head is various factions from the Warhammer universe. I'm only saying because someone is bound to make a warhammer mod and you can steal things from them. Less predictably, I'd like to see some of the View from a Mirror races. The Charon would make an extremely interesting faction, as would the Aachim and the Faellum. I haven't gotten far en

The reason I'd want to keep the paper doll for armor is for magic items like gloves, boots, etc. I think, though, for just basic, everyday armor it should really just take up a torso slot. EDIT: You know, I still like having the choice of different greaves, gauntlets etc. so I take that back.
yea, the quest was really easy ... even if the fight vs the 100 combat rating Thieves is the hardest fight in the game actually, I did the quest and DIDN'T get a Dragon. A huge bug perhaps ... but I could live with it cause I was already uber. Actually, that game the King and Queen were both badasses with over 50 attack and 60 HP, riding Wargs and taking names. The Queen only had about 2 combat sp
This is very good. But adding everything except gold would require an actual trade system, or just seem bland. I don't think a trade system is what they would want to add right now, and much less test since there are so many other things that need to be finished before release. However just adding something would be better than adding nothing. Quotes have gone Fubar, the bold is my text.
I 50% agree with you on this point. However, there might be a way of imp

OK, well, I think some people are equating "structure" to "story", which isn't a good thing to do. However, I do agree that Bioware should at least experiment with a different formula. The Intro, 4 Places, Twist, End does lend itself to predictability. Formulas aren't necessarily bad. I love House even though it's the exact same episodes over and over again. But I'd love a more explorative RPG like Planescape: Torment or Baldur's Gate I or II. That being said... well... I simp

Uh, well, realistically, I don't actually think this is going to be the top selling game of all time. That was the Sims... I don't really think it'll hit that level of popularity with the general public. But, it's sure to be popular!

Huh... you know what'd help solve this problem? Let's be real: big empires are wasteful. Getting the player to research "Expansion" or "Administration" to allow him to efficiently build and/or rule multiple cities. In addition... to have a bigger and bigger empire, they have to build increasingly expensive and ornate Palaces in their capital city. There is an upkeep associated with Palaces... and the upkeep is paid in Research Points... [e digicons][/e] There

I'm getting bored of the resources so far. I guess for a couple of reasons. There aren't all that many, so I feel like they're kinda spammed everywhere, making the map feel crowded and not very interesting. The objective of this thread is to give a greater variety of resources without really adding anything excessively complicated. Idea #1: Resource Synergy Resources are divided into groups based on what they produce. That is: Food Produ

I'm going to make a case against Action Points. Bear with me. Let's say we have an X-Com or Fallout type action point system. Have you ever done an Aimed Shot and Snap Shot to maximize the number of shots you could do in a turn? Think about what that would look like in real life, to carefully line up a shot and then take a completely un-aimed shot. Now, making two snap shots makes sense to me, or one aimed shot, but a snap shot and an aimed shot does not. Now let's go back to

I'd rather have a system more like Dungeons and Dragons, to be quite honest, so you'd split your actions into Standard, Full-Round, Movement, etc. So you could do a Standard Action and Movement Action, or two Standard Actions, or two Movement Actions, or a simple Full-Round Action. I'm not fond of Action Points as they work right now. I'd rather, say, have a separate movement speed with a separate combat speed. Combat speed might affect things like initiative, and possibly a chance to do mult

Until people keep devouring anything they get thrown at, the industry will keep making it.
Precisely. Consumers need to be a little more discerning if services are to improve. I don't really see that happening, though. I'll be happy playing Linley's Dungeon Crawl if this Big Brother type of multiplayer experience is ever dominant.

Genuine badasses like Christopher Lee are rare nowadays. Mostly we're too content with easy lives and awesome video games to be multi-talented multi-lingual spies. The guy was actually a British spy, can you believe it? His missions were all classified, but from what little hints we get it was really risky stuff. At the very least, he could accurate describe what it's like to stab someone in the back. There was a Master Race. It was just Christopher Lee. He can sing. He can dance. He
