I'm surprised he can admit to being in the beta...
Good feedback and ideas here. I'll nix the hp bonus and setithe effect.
That's good because if/when you give the AI a bonus you want it to be as subtle as possible. HP point is right in your face because it so obviously different from what you have. OTOH things like small production bonuses or better starting locations people tend to dismiss as luck or attribute to the AI's superior playing since they can&
Seriously though. Unarmed combat as it is is ridiculous. You have no attack whatsoever? That makes no sense at all.
The new selection reticule is gorgeous.
Awesome froggy. From what I've read Derek is kicking butt with your money. Keep it up!
SWEET! This is awesome! One thing I would like to see is more unique spell books that can be selected at the beginning. Maybe procipee should get one. In fact it would be cool if every (or almost every) channeler had at least one unique spell.
I personally am not playing Elemental until FE comes out. So maybe that biases me to wanting froggy to put his efforts toward the AI in fallen enchantress. But that's where I'd much rather see his efforts going. In fact I would much prefer if all available talent was focused there. Sorry but WoM is beating a dead horse IMO. FE is where the magic is. Figuratively and literally ;)
Froggy I really much wish you'd rather work on the AI for Fallen Enchantress.... Just sayin
I don't get what the point of the op is. Is he for or against skimpy female armor?
I think it's better to make the player pay in resources over ridiculous training times. Or alternatively let the training times be long but you can train many units at once if you have the resources. So you might have an uber unit that takes thirty turns but you're not tied up while that guy is going through his training (this makes sense but adds complexity)
What is wrong with microsoft? This is a terrible idea! Why must they keep changing our interfaces???
Wrong direction! This is going to make city spam and monotony even worse because you will want many more small cities so that you can take advantage of the cheap producing buildings that you can create at each one. This choice will make cities more monotonous because you will want to spread out your generic production buildings among many cities rather than having cities specialize! Do the math and (given the numbers you are throwing out) you will find much better ROI for building pro
I'm glad you guys had the balls to do it! :)
Blunt should be good against armor not piercing. Although piercing should be better than cutting. Cutting should be best against opponents without armoring like creatures. In truth blunt is the type of damage that plate protects least against, although it protects better than mail. To counter blunt you would need thick padded armor that should probably hinder combat speed especially if worn under plate (although this would provide the best protection).
I was in a system once that had the planet really close by. I was in my mammoth and all of the sudden I started hearing atmosphere warnings I was like WTH
Then why don't you just keep your kidney and play x-com? They have it on impulse.
What category does dwarf fortress fall into?
Can traits detect things like: How many friendly/enemy adjacent units - This would be great for a unit that needs to stay in formation OR one that uses a wild fighting style and is restricted by nearby friendlies OR cowardly units that cannot fight when an enemy is nearby OR a unit that remains inactive and frozen on the battlefield unless the enemy moves adjacent to it OR How many units in squad vs max - This can be used by squads like pikes that when their ranks are broken
Will traits be given as quest rewards?
This needs to be possible. Also traits added by spell/ritual. Negative traits added to your enemies. Traits added (good and bad) from notable locations (you found a ring tried it on and now it won't come off)
Paired traits would be awesome! Or maybe when you have a strong & rare trait present give the player the a hard choice to make by making it so that all the other traits are multiple weaker traits or a weaker trait and a stat boost.
I don't think Abeix is something you're going to be able to deal with in the early game...
Yes essence was such an awesome idea. It makes me sad it is gone. I think it would have been interesting if essence gave a percent bonus to all stats.
I'm starting to get excited about elemental again... Just a little... Btw. Flavor text IS important.
Ooooooo!!! Pretty...
Yes! THis would be interesting if you could only build certain types of buildings on certain types of land. Making the art assets would be a pain or you could just forget the art assets and make them all look the same.
