*Kill 10 rats in the basement...[e digicons]:X[/e] Are they Quests for our Sovereign/Heroes? Are they Quests that we can offer to those adventurers? The Quests could be done by both groups so if I don't want to send a Hero to solve "The Quest for the Holy Pot" I could offer it to the "public"? (hmm a la Majesty 2 but as something that happens in the background)

Hypothetical system. Why? Hadn't the chance before and it's better late than never. I know it's "too complex or whatever" but it's not like I'm know for designing good systems anyways. [e digicons]:P[/e] Any creature shares some basic stats and some combat stats. All of them work under the same ruleset. Creature Stats: Strength: bonus to close combat damage; bonus to weapon/shield wielding. Agility: determines Movement; bonus
. Base Age (20, 40, 60) : you can get more points for creating your sovereign, but you'll gain bad effects earlier in-game. (maybe 100 turns = 1 year of life, and if you're too old you can die, unless you cast the "extend life" spell from the life/death category)
Unless that changed lately, the Sovereign is ageless. So I'd take the approach of it gives you some extra points but your base stats are diminishe

What wouldn't make sense is so to have a Fire Kit for your swords that makes them flaming, adding a bonus to damage (of type Arcane), as well as a Ice Kit that makes you weapons iced, for ssame bonus to damage (of Arcane type). THere should be something more to that. Like maybe the Fire Kit costing more but doing more extra damage, or the more logical thing: FIre Kit and Ice Kit have different effects. That they do the same type of damage or not is in the end irrelevant. If the only differenc

Too many people trying to make of this game a Fantasia Universalis? Well, no one can say that we weren't warned of this "no more open journals" happening. Why do I have some flashback feelings of the Demigod's forum? Twisted to the reality of this forum, obviously. Chill up?

Frogboy said here: https://forums.elementalgame.com/371050 that When these developer journals are posted, the idea is to solicit feedback, ideas, and concepts from you guys. But too often, I get the distinct impression that people think that we are TELLING users how things are going to be rather than talking with users. These journals are not designed to be “previews” (unless they actually say that somew

I think that those changes to magic types are just placeholders while developing the beast. If can make it work, shouldn't be so difficult to add extras, right? Is it not what some modders will want to do anyways?
Re planes. Planes were in those early games because of the memory limit. We don't have that memory limit. 640k is long gone. Bigger maps.
I like the flavor of "In this plane the roads are automatically enchanted, there are special minerals and only here you can find some of the races.". Plus all the plane shifting thing. Just saying.

It's what made me buy the game in the first place! Merlin vs. Kali, I think there was a turn limit or somesuch. With so many resources and all that, it seems difficult to judge when a starting position is simply good or just too good for it's own good. And not just for what you get around you when you start but also about those that are close to that point. Before I copy&paste a wall of text , I want to say that I like that part mentioned by DamnedChoir of the offspring having their own powers, interests and desires. I had an idea similar to that but quite simple in comparison to it. Anyways, wall of text ahead. Read at your own peril . Why should be unique tech/resources/weapons for leaders be overpowered? Unique <> Overpowered. They should add alternative ways to do things but no need to overpower anything.

Base Attributes looks better altough I always have this thing with close combat and ranged combat... The Stubborn could renamed to Reckless. Or even be Overconfident depending of the tone you want to give to it. Ugly shouldn't have to do with fewer children. The possibility of marriage with a Sovereign and give him children, should be something very serious for any woman (if the Sovereign is a he). It could affect some diplomacy tough. In any case, if you include Ugly, then yo

I haven't seen a thread for this so... I'm trying to navigate through different pages of the Elemental forum. Trying. Altough the URL seems to indicate that I actually went to the new page of the list and the page count seems to agree with it, the threads are exactly the ones from the first page. Same problem in the Off Topic part of the forum.[e digicons]:\[/e]

It's important to have a choice by which you can tie a Sovereign to a particular Civlization (the one you previously selected). In new games with that particular Civilization, that Sovereign would appear as one of the availables but not with any other. Why? Because if you tie with to a concrete civilization, that should give you access to specific perks/talents/traits/advantages/disadvantages/flaws/... related to it. As I said in another thread, the Sovereign grows up in a concrete en

I must agree with pigeonpigeon (does that sound as if I didn't like to agree with him? :S ). Not that I can say not to +1 to Strength... but special skills/traits seem more appealing. If those bonuses to the stats can be included in a trait with some flavor, they are welcome as they become flavorfull (does that word even exist?).
