I don't want to encourage a monopoly, spend 2 seconds to close out of Steam every time I close Portal, have Steam take up 6-20 mb of my oh so precious ram, and if I don't have the choice to get Portal for free through another client I don't want it!
I have to agree with the comment earlier on the post that it's worrying that now the Empires and Kingdoms seem to be so tightly defined that this will be the main dividing line and not the factions.
That doesn't prevent factions from the same side playing totally different inside their common frame. Not that I expect the 10 factions to totally play differently from each other of the same side (not enough time/money/whatever?) but su

After some Spellforce (playing it again after Impulse release), I would prefer an open system like that in which each level up you get points to increase stats (Strength, Dexterity....) and 2 points to pick up or increase skills (Light Combat Arts, Heavy Combat Arts, White Magic, Elemental Magic, Death Magic, Mind Magic, Ranged Combat). It has a chance of gimping your char if you don't know what you are doing (or want to RP) but allows a very nice customization that continues during the

Checking the beta 2 requirements, supposed to be one of the points to consider. As said by Myles, new game, played some turns, main menu, new game, crash: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4996295/Elemental0_32-2010-05-11T00-17-15-453.zip

One neutral Champion was in the area of influence of my only city. I selected him to try to recruit him and when I did, I saw the new Lay Siege To City button. Problem: the button was not greyed out and I could actually click it. As he was neat my city (which I suppose is a condition), he sieged it. A message of Lay Siege appeared in the city. I recruited the Champion to see if the siege would autobreak but it didn't happen and I had no way to break it and neither I could move th
Well, I meant that modders could do them without being hardcore modders. Not as easy as "Plug&Play" but not so difficult as to write a whole system. Hopefully?[e digicons]:pout:[/e]

The ability to make a map/level and then load it from your mod and load additional maps/levels in your mod and go back makes it relatively easy for someone to make “dungeons” or have cities be a simple icon that whe
Reading their Elemental product page reads very similar, that an Impulse account will be required for updates and multiplayer.
Elemental is a exclusive of Impulse anyway, as Sins. The price to pay for no disk checks or other bs that usually plagues PC games is that patches and multiplayer are with Impulse (which per se isn't bad. Would you feel better if intead they forced you to Filefront and Gamespy?). If you have no problems
I keep hearing this argument. So, you're big gripe with Steam is that is has to be running, but you don't mind Impulse because the ONLY difference is that Steam has to be running. Other people don't mind that, but they refuse to do it because they can't be bothered to set Steam to offline mode. This is the stupidest thing ever. Sure it's your choice, but it doesn't mean your rationale is in any way intelligent. <
And if you buy Settlers 7 from Impulse, you will be forced to use Ubisoft's crippling DRM that doesn't even let you play offline. Where's the furor? Where's the upstanding citizens of Stardock who support reasonable DRM like all first party Stardock games? Nowhere, when they stand to make a profit off of every sale.
