The Essence used in imbuing champions is permanently lost (3 for use). But nothing that some level ups cannot solve (hunting down the nadits and similars, for example). And it's worthy the effort. WIth your Sovereign you could eventually summon a Fire Giant. With three extra Channelers properly leveled up, you would get to summon three extra more Fire Giants. Plus if they are in the same army, imagine them casting Chain Lighting one after the other and decimating the enemy before it gets the

But I suppose that it wouldn't be impossible to reach some kind of deal with Stardock about some kind of "Premium Modules" a la Neverwinter Nights? One would expect something more than a "mod" in those cases though. More like a new game based on the game engine or
Very nice ideas. I'd call them "a must have", especially the Special Training ones. [e digicons][/e]
I'd say... If you use Adenture tree, use it only for the techs that reveal new resources and never the Heroes or Quests. That will reduce the "noise" of lots of hard monsters making it more difficult as the exploration branch doesn't create new monster spawns. Having your Sovereign running like crazy to explore while you have a Pioneer being built is good too. Fertile patches are best, gold mines second. I'd put iron mines third and everything else as you see it.
I think the Organized trait for Sovereigns is too important to ever not pick. I suppose if you planned on keeping your sov in a city past the first few turns you could live without it, but I don't see any other way to spend 10 points that has such a dramatic impact in the game, or makes your sov any more useful. It seems like the kind of thing a sovereign should be able to do anyway. Give it to all sovs free, and let us use points towards flavor traits that are in

Some very interesting dynamics here. A plumber comes to your house that you pay $100 to fix something. When they leave the house floods. The plumber starts telling you how over worked they are, never rest, need to take a week vacation, we really love you but,
I had declared war on a minor to find myself unable to attack the city because during more than 10 turns, a Karavox merchant was parked in the minor capital and I could only select the Talk option for the merchant and not the attack the city. Treaties of any kind with Karavox are usually impossible in my games due to their amazing ability to sky rocket themselves into the realm of uber power.

I don't particularly mind buying a game that's still in Beta (I did that with elemental, afterall), but I fully expect other people would.
The only real disappointment I have is that the dynasty system is a missed opportunity as it stands. It's really quite shallow as it's simply a way of recruiting heroes for free.
That stands as correct. But it's only a question of for how long. There is a lot of potential there.
Total waste of thread. There are no hexes. Stardock isn't going to change everything at this point to introduce hexes. Go and mod it yourself. Really.
I find amusing how many people, at the release of each game, complain about they paid for beta test at release. At this point, one would think that only idiots, ignorants or daredevils would dare to buy in release day (or preorder/prebuy). If at least those idiots, ignorants and daredevils where to assume their responsability for their decission... And I can understand that people that don't know Stardock (especially if they believe some propaganda by some) have trouble understan

I suppose that allowing champions to gain experience doing "things" other than combat could bring some balance issues. I'd like it though. Or if not, increase their bonuses and/or lower their cost to recruit.
