Internet connection should be only required by the betas and never for the normal patches. I haven't tried 1.1 without internet connection so I cannot say if it requires or not, and I haven't experienced hangs in the start up screen. So I cannot help you there. If somehow 1.1 is requiring internet by any chance, I'd vote for a mistake when removing it from 1.1 for public release (the mistake being actually not removing it) rather than a new approach to DRM by Stardock. That said

It has been always like that. Not sure why. Something related to the tile being empty to be able to build? I have developed the habit of stoping the stack one tile away and the next turn send first the Pioneer, then found the city and finally move the rest of the stack.
At this point I'm not sure what to think of the AI. I'm not the brightest person so a semidecent AI should be challenging to me. This one isn't. I play on Normal but only because higher difficulties only mean "More Hit Points, No Fog of War" and similars that don't really improve the AI per se. (i really enjoyed playing Gall Civ II on equal foot with the AI and being kicked by it thanks to Frogboy's updates to it, so I know that eventually Elemental will get there too) I would still c
People and their flashy colours... [e digicons]x_x[/e] And for me, "fantasy" is anything that it's not real. :P There is hope for more fleshing out the factions and slowy get more faction related stuff as time goes by. I suppose that it will happen during expansion packs but the hope is there.
In my last game, I buy them from Altar, who seems to have some. Resource scarcity in general is... annoying. Right now I have metal thanks to a ventri mine from my Adventure tech because except for Gilden, no one else seems to have any, and I have explored most of the map. :O
In a basic way I'd tend to: Earth: Defense Fire: Attack Water: Movement Air: Control Each element should have some attack spells but how offensive/defensive they are and how many would depend on the element itself (fire being prone to have lots). Some would have secondary "roles", like Water having Healing, Earth having poisoning, etc. Custom "elements"... Hmmm Ether for me would be like the Void or the fabric that ties every other
while they're at it.. why not make an army-screen where you can reorder your units not only for the world map (and thus defining the leader) but even tell them where to start in battles (I hate when my casters block the frontline and my warriors have to walk around them..)
This is most needed. Nothing like my archers in front line and my heavy hitters in the back rows... :S
First things first, not sure if custom crests count as eMod or another tag so I'll wait for Heavenfall to enligthen me. :P Now, business. For those who don't know, I'm making a mod and one of the ideas is that any content in it (resource-wise), should be usable by anyone. So why wait in the custom crests department? This mini mod gives you custom crests to use with your custom factions. I know that only a few are actually "cool" but they didn't cost you any effort
Add? You didn't do your homework if that's your opinion and based your purchase only on it. In any case: I was working on an update for 1.1 but I suppose that I shouldn't bother then? To force people to bother to read the forums? Because this thread was never meant as substitute of people doing their "homework". Feel free to ask a Stardock member to delete the thread. I won't be bothering with it anymore from this moment on. I'd tell you why but according to you, there
"There is no Pioneer Unit Portrait."
"Stuff." Lets hope for Frogboy improving his game-fu before he tries to improve the AI... :P

Less than an hour playing a game started another day (Procipinee/Pariden, no mods): Crash when hitting ENd of Turn. (debug talks of saving game)

What version are you talking about? There is no Essence as before, just as a boolean that says if someone is a channeler or not. Each Sovereign generates by himself 2 mana each turn (+2 if they took Attunement talent). You don't want to use magic for your Sovereign? Don't use it then! I recently played a pure melee Sovereign (and army, as I never use magic and that included not imbuing any of my champions) and it was fun. Would have been a better "test" if the AI had actually used som
No.
Egalitarism should not be the norm. It may be natural for some people now but go tell the first humans about egalitarism (if you could tell them, that is). If Egalitarism was to be kept as Talent for the faction, it should cost points. Period. Why? Well, because it should do something more than "Oh, cool! I can have dudettes in my army!" (which by itself is a ridiculous excuse but that's another story). Egalitarians societies should get diplomacy penalties with non egalitarian

You only need exhaustion. Bring in your energy bars!
I only autoresolve when: Facing lonely Pioneers (0 attack...) Meatshields against less powerful enemy meatshields. Stuck in tactical battle (I have not being able to play much 1.1 yet so still haven't experienced that if it's still there).
In game? No. Outside of it? Mess with the XML for the faction and assign the desired to Sovereign to the faction. Not complex but along the lines of: The XML of the Sovereign (Units folder) should have an initial line like: DS_Veralux_Elena "> And you would need to add to the faction XML (Race folder) a line saying something like: DS_Veralux_Elena
