The min specs are meh, slightly higher than I might have expected from a TBS. Will still be able to run it on my laptop though. Surprised by the recs though, they are quite high, well beyond my system in almost every respect. Then again 'recommended' is very subjective anyway - some games I make the rec specs and it plays awful, other games barely min and it whizzes along fine.

Rubbish Frogboy AI = Well above average AI. OK Frogboy AI = Brilliant standard AI. And cut scenes are usually the last thing to do since they don't affect the rest of the game.

Bioware USED to be a great developer, and now since they've sold out they've gone way down the tubes...
Stardock is privately owned. So if Froggie doesn't want to sell up, it can't get bought up.

I have no doubt that each person will attack seperately, as in GalCiv 2. Otherwise there would be no point in elite units - you could just tech up on squadrons and peasant spam.

I'm impressed how many are saying Elemental actually - of course most are going to say Civ 5 because... (in the words of one respondent) it's Civ 5. Big (the biggest in TBS terms) franchise, big company, but the 'upstart' (how Stardock can seriously be called upstarts after GalCiv 2 though I don't know) is getting serious attention.

Hell I wouldn't even beta test if I wasn't getting something rewarding or free out of it. I am disappointed in this beta test though. I paid $80 upfront so I expected a lot more than this out of the beta. We should get 1 or 2 days before release of the final version IMO. Especially all those that

I suspect that this has already been changed internally, but the magical items you get with crystal are WAY too expensive in gold terms to be of any use compared with how much they do. I've never used a single one despite having lots of crystal because the gold charged is extortionate. So I think they should be a) a lot more powerful so you'd actually want to use them (currently a cheap bit of armour and some boots will do the same job) and b) cost a lot less gold

Read the other journals. All that stuff is really easy to change. Froggie likened it to writing a college essay but having to code the word proccessor first. They've coded that, what's left is easy to fix. Half the stuff there has probably already been fixed, and what we have in the beta was never the same as the internal version anyway. Froggie specifically said that in every game they've ever released they get posts like this.&

I note the Mallorean and Belgarion references... The main problem with dirt patches etc is that you could make super large cities for strategic purposes.

I'm sure the Frog will squash it, but I don't think there will be any more beta versions before release. The AI certainly isn't finished at this point.

The impulse menu just runs the game installed on your computer, they're one and the same. As for slow and crap, its a beta and not tweaked up yet.
Regarding the availability of the game: Per your explanation, I understand I won't be able to buy a retail copy of the game a store. In that case, I have a question, or rather a request, regarding the download-able product: Suppose I download the game. Can I then burn it on a DVD, and then install and play it from that DVD without any internet connection? I plan to make full use of the offline features of the game, but I want to make sure

I saw Prof Hawking not that long ago. The look on the tourists' faces as he 'trundled' down the street with an assisstant was hilarious. As for smartest guy on the planet, dunno really. The dude who's got Hawking's old job (you have to retire from it aged 67) is pretty smart. The Russian mathmo Perelman is ridiculously clever, but also downright weird. Somewhere I read that amongst the general public he is usually considered the brainiest guy aro
