It's on YouTube I believe.

When it comes to the really uber big spells like volcano, it would be unbelievably frustrating if your prized capital was destroyed by a sneaky opponent when you are steamrollering elsewhere. Are there going to be methods of dispersing magic? I mean there's not much point in big armies if they're just going to get shoved a volcano you know where. Perhaps sovreigns (and maybe imbued heroes) could have the ability to prevent the really big spells wihin a small
He is one wierd guy... he winds people up as Hortz, says he will return for another look nearer release, then posts a 'review' which is basically an ill-informed rant a la his original stuff. And he's the one complaining about despicable behaviour.
Posting 'reviews' based on videos is unproffesional and inappropriate (and somewhat unfair to the devs). Froggie was just repaying the compliment.
If you'd bothered to look up Stardock, you'll find that they have probably the best copy protection policy of any major company. Buy it from the shop = no copy protection.
In future can you post bug files to pastebin.com and link to them? Long posts tend to crash the forums.
Email to ask although I suspect someone official will probably answer on this thread.
NOOO I have an exam tomorrow!
Somewhere Froggie postetd some pics of GalCiv a few months before it was released. Abysmal graphics. [e digicons]:)[/e]
Love the art style, but (in my opinion) I don't like those bright trees. They stand out a bit too much.
I'm a mathematician. We are known for using the same symbol to mean three different things in the same equation [e digicons]:P[/e]
Meh, just terminology. Point is that there will be standard games a la Civ
Like Gal Civ 2 if you've played it, but with a better campaign and online stuff. I barely touched its campaign, it was all about the 'skirmishes'
If you preorder but don't want to play the beta, you won't be charged yet. You are charged as soon as you download it (it's no extra cost, they are just taking your payment for the game early).
I'm definitely against Winner Takes All. It just feels all wrong in the setting in question. Here's an alternative: Certain units like heroes are quite likely to escape a losing battle all by their own. Dragons are especially likely to escape since they can fly off. Fleeing heroes loses battle morale and a fleeing dragon even more (if your dragon scarpers you might as well pack it in). You can't expect your footsoldiers to
Not being a BetaTester (yet) I apologize for the potentially elementary question: With regard to essence: Is essence an infinitely available resource or one that is finite? That is, can the essence pool continue to grow throughout the course of the game or is it a fixed amount for the entire game (e.g. 1,000 essence points maximum shared among all throughout the game). Either way, I could think of some neat g
When I play Elemental I can't help of thinking of the version of the traditional song The Trees They Do Grow High by Pentangle especially when it comes to the dynasty stuff. I wonder if they'll include something like that in the HBO Game of Thrones.
and if you have preordered and want to play a beta, make sure you tick the 'show pre-release versions' box in Preferences.
I did exam revision...
It will come with a 64 bit version. With bigger maps.
Try preferences -> show pre-release versions. I'm also not sure if the beta is currently open or not.
It won't be 'full' in that there will still be features missing/not working but it will certainly be on the way. AI will also be pretty non-existant.
The impulse thing with the patches is simply so that pirates can't warez it and get all the freebie extras without paying anything to start with. Impulse anywhere should help with offline issues, but in general people who play without internet connections don't usually get any patches to games anyway.
You can hardly expect that a game released in 2010 will have the same system requirements as one released years ago. However they are intending to make it playable on very low end systems. You just won't get so many of the fancy graphics.
