This same issue happened to me with the Strength scroll. It looks like there is pervasive issue with the "Use" button and scrolls found in loot.
This is still broken in .983. In the attached saved game, have Lord Relias try to use Cloud Walk. http://www.mediafire.com/?i7ug06iu6j86i3d The issue appears to be related to having the casting sovereign stationed in a city. If I move Lord Relias out of the city first, it works.
derek, please lock the ai programmer(s) in a room and refuse to let them out until the monster ai will attack the NEAREST town/outpost that releases them, and afterwards has a bias to attack the faction that triggered the release ie a hatred of the side that caused the wandering so if a player releases a dragon near another player's town the dragon will target the player, BUT if it was released by an ai then the ai will be the target and not
don't make me cry
I blame my success as a player on Sean and others who have posted some really good ideas, strategies, play-throughs, etc. Since Tuidjy won't do it, I'll put up a saved game for all of us to play when .984 comes out. That should address a couple of issues: 1) You can call B.S. on someone cuz you'll be playing the exact same map as them. or 2) You can learn from all the different successful strategies, videos, screenshots, saved games,
you have to have better relations than "neutral".
Very mixed feelings about this....
Just think Firefly... v1.1 is going to be sweet!
Nope, I turned off automatic turns the first day. Click on something that you can't reach this turn but can reach next turn (i.e. a monster, a goodie hut, etc.), click end turn, save your game, load your game. Everybody moves. Now imagine that when you're half way through a game, and you've got 20 dudes with movement points, and it's been several hours or days since you last played.
When a popup window appears map often scrolls to a different location from where the event that triggered the popup happened. Fixed in 0.983 according to Mmrnmhrm. Anyone disagree?
I disagree. That is not fixed.
Are you sure it's fixed?
This bug still exists...causes lots of issues when you load a saved game like units on top of goodie huts, units from different factions or monsters on the same tiles, etc., not to mention the annoying popups coming from you have no idea.
Still pushing for this easy UI fix please.
Derek, maybe you need to take another look at Sions. Either make them "design"-able like slaves, juggernauts, golems, etc., reduce their cost, move them up in the tech tree, all of the above, or take them out completely.

It sounds like Sean can make a mod for a few people with a new ability/spell called "Blur". Let's leave Blind alone in the real game.
I try to play a different faction every time and try to maximize their strengths. Like Sean mentioned, Magnar is fun to play and really different. Don't be afraid to cull the weak!
Those bandits are 2 free scouts/explorers, or exellent cannon fodder for your first battles. Not everybody has a fortified tile so your reasoning for nerfing Blind is flawed. Perhaps you just found a nice combination that works for people playing Kraxis. Thanks for playing.
I asked Derek to leave the companions with the heroes and he told me to "go take a flying flip at a rolling donut".
Why do you hate to admit it?
Cuz you're getting all the video cards from Stardock for all your great ideas. Why didn't I think of this idea first? I could use a new video card.
You guys want every faction to be able to do everything. Forget it. That's not fun. Maybe Stardock will add a Sandbox mode so you can pick all the overpowered traits you want. Altar and Kraxis need to be able to have their champion recruiting advantages over the other factions. That makes them unique. Remember all the whining about how the factions weren't unique enough and now you guys are asking that they all be the same again. Sheesh.
