You guys are all just guessing. Faction Power is a random number generator. I have a custom race that produces a lot of influence. I get a huge lead in the Faction Power ratings and I have 0 troops. I then ally with all the other factions and win the game never making a single troop. P.S. Whenever I play Magnar, I always start off dead last in Power Rating for most of the game even though I have good troops and cities. Go figure.

I don't think anyone actually answered the OP's question. The answer is that Stardock thought the game was an 8.5. Brad had made a post somewhere that they wouldn't release it until internally they felt like they had an 8.5. Not surprisingly, Stardock was a little over-optimistic about their own game as Metacritic has it at 76. A lot of us fanboys love the game and we play it like it is an 85, but to an unbiased reviewer it is about a 75 because there were

Thanks for the laugh. Stardock will entertain exactly one of your suggestions. Brad is looking into adding multi-player. All of the rest were design decisions not included in the game on purpose.

Yes it is too easy even on Expert... once you get a big lead, everyone will ally with you. Game over. Brad has programmed the AI to give us a +5 diplomacy rating (You are dominating me) and that's probably too high. I don't want to take the fun out of it because creating allies should be a viable and doable strategy to win the game. I also like it when I start getting bored with the game I'm in and don't want to finish mopping up. I guess the best

If it was only meant to be achievable by custom factions, then why not just let it be from some mod instead of the standard game? I don't know about wise ... Just to clarify, by "less than once per game" I mea

If you have the crystal, I like to make a unit of ice/fire staff + ice ring + fire ring + ice necklace + fire necklace. Add Accuracy (+10 accuracy) and Fast (+2 initiative) trait. Throw them on wargs if you can (+2 initiative). That unit has 14 attack and 0 defense. These units will 1 shot anything including juggernauts. Don't tell anybody cuz if word gets out that these little guys are OP'ed, they will get nerfed.
Influence is relatively easy to come by. Capture Prestigious Locations and build Monuments on them. Or, take the Legacy of Serrane trait and earn Influence every time your caravans complete a trade route.
You just proved my point. Legacy of Serrane is a custom faction trait. And the few prestigious locations out there only generate 1 influence per turn unless you have the Guile trait (another custom faction

I had to create a custom faction with Heroic (50 influence for quests) and Betrayers (broken loyalties spell) to do it. Here's what I learned: 1. It automatically put me at war with that faction. Since I didn't have any troops nearby, they simply took it back over the next turn. Ooops. Reload. 2. It was pretty cool when I did it the second time with troops nearby... I got a great big Resoln capital with 8 grain, 3 materials, and 3 es

There are different ways to win, but mass expansion is one of the most effective. Unfortunately, they tried (and failed) to make small civilizations (fewer but bigger cities) equal to large civilizations (lots of smaller cities) using the Prestige mechanic. City growth is Prestige is divided by the number of cities you have (plus other modifiers). The problem is that you run into the growth caps too quickly if you have fewer cities. You would have to spend all of your

Look at my Metacritic prediction thread. It's not like I'm some Nostradamus or something... I just call them like I see them. I predicted the Metacritic score would be 79 so it should come as no surprise when a review gives FE 7.9/10.
