I just wanted this game not to be so fking boring and bland, I've played the whole game and it sucks, the magic in this game sucks, the factions are all two flavors of vanilla crap, and this is something they could have done easily from the mechanics in the game to give the factions some identifiable differences on the map. The whole game sucks, it's bland it's boring and it's not immersive at all, it has all the mechanics to be a good game and that makes it even worse

Forest environment, for the forest-loving Elves of course
Everything y

I understand that the guys at Stardock are programmers and not gamers, but what were they thinking? Why didn't they incorporate all the great ideas modders were working on and updating patch after patch? This game is written like it's made entirely from a coder's perspective, not at all from a gamer's perspective. All the factions are boring, the game is just bland. I shouldn't have to decipher all their code or struggle

Is there any way to make an empire faction change the land around it to desert and get the same bonuses it would usually get in empire in desert instead?

What is it called? What is the "terrain" that spreads out from Kingdom cities within your borders called? What is the "terrain" that spreads out from Empire cities called? Because that's what I'm talking about. Before Stardock decided top Punish modders for modifying it, there were mods to change the "terrain" whatever the hell it's called so that it wasn't two flavors of freaking BORING. Now if you give an Empire Kingdom "Terrain"

By default the Environment inflicts various bonuses and penalties. I find EMPIRES DARK and KINGDOMS GOOD GRASS to be fawking BORING and would really like to Have a Desert Empire with Envrionemt Bonuses in Desert or a Arctic Kingdom with Environment Bonuses in the Ice. I don't know why this isn't in the vanilla game, or why Stardock won't even consider putting anything like this in, but is there some way to add Environment Types with the appropriate b

Yeah, it'd be REALLY NICE if the AI prioritized settling near it's own borders instead of strewing about all over, and if we could make border agreements. It'd be nice if borders worked like National Borders in Civ 5 or if you could cast spells or start with bonuses that permanently changed the terrain within your borders, so you could have an arctic kingdom or a desert kingdom or even a swamp or forest kingdom, an empire that uses kingdom terrain with full

Maybe we should ask Nexus, I shouldn't have to comb through random forum posts or learn the intimate code of the game to tweak minor details.
"Everything in Fallen Enchantress is still bland and uninteresting.
That answers the most important question I had. You know if they had just taken advantage of terrains a little more, added some spice between empires and kingdoms, something besides "We'z all the same and We'z all boring" Well then at least one empire could be distinguished from the next. <

So what's change? Is everything still boring as hell in Elemental or has the new expansion really for reals changed it this time? I'm somewhat cynical about the reviews I've read, especially given how the industry works, has Stardock been watching Extra Credits ?

Reply to Terrain in FE in WOM Ideas

I don't understand why they insist on having all Empires use the same blasted land terrain and all kingdoms use the same grassland terrain, when they have desert and arctic terrains that would be perfect for some of them, and could easily implement the different terrains and set terrain bonuses based on individual Kingdom or Empire just like they already did with the two default terrain with faction bonuses.

I know it's a revolutionary and perhaps impractical idea, but I think it's worth suggesting anyway. There are a lot of great ideas for how to improve this boring game and so far modders have done a lot more to make the game fun than Stardock has, so here's my idea. Hey Stardock, pay attention to the ideas suggested here, stop relying on modders to make the game worth playing and do it yourselves. Relying entirely on modders to make the game fun just ends in a complicated mess of mods no

I bought the game as soon as it came out and I gotta say in the expansion the factions had better get some depth to them and break away from this two flavors of bland crap or I'm going to QQ about it on every soap box I can stand on. Trust me I have nothing better to do, it'll be in my user reviews, in my forum posts, I won't shut up about it for months.
