Master of Monsters was a lot of fun for me for its time, but I tried playing again about a year ago(the second one) and its just too clunky for me now. And I've played through a lot of Battle of Wesnoth. SO, does anyone have any recommendations for something similar, but recent for the PC?
TheBirthdayParty
This is sounding better and better. I was vastly disappointed with E:WoM even up to the most recent update/patch. However this is looking like something I would recommend highly to my friends. I'll try the beta and then the final product first of course, but its very promising. Only thing I currently can think of to suggest is to change the name, its kind of blah. But I guess its too late to change it. :)

This is not supposed to effect pioneers but sometimes it will try to build them as size 4. Nakisisa Really? That kind of screws building troops early to defend against wandering monsters leaving your first city to be conquered very quickly. : / Y

Just got version 1.3 Started a new game and researched 'equipment'. Created a unit with cloth head, chest, and leg gear and a pointy stick. For some reason the mats and gold required to build the unit is not translating correctly into the training unit tab in the city UI. It seems to think i'm trying to train a group whereas I am only training a single person. Saved game: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8971392/new%20game.EleSav Picture illustrating the discrepancy:<
Release date: There isn't one. That you bought WoM: It's in their records. If you've got it in Impulse, they know you bought it.
That's why I said approximate release date, not specific one. And are you a staff member? I mean you know this for sure and all that?
What's the closest approximation for the release date for fallen enchantress? And how will stardock know I bought the previous version? The emails I was sent from my digital copy are long gone and I never recieved the hard copy I requested in the mail. I do still have access to the game via the stardock console utility thingy.
Er, meant to post this in general. Can someone move it there?
There's something very uncanny about E:WoM. When I play, after about 20 minutes(Unless its at the most 3-4 hours after i've woken up for the day) E:WoM makes me REALLY drowsy. I'm not saying the game is boring, just something? in the artwork or mechanics... my eyes can't stay open. No other game has ever done this. Anyone else have this kind of experience?
It can take up to about 5 minutes (or maybe longer) to check the files. When updating, it compares the files in the Elemental directory to the files in the patch. This is why it takes so long, it is not just a simple patch. You need to wait a bit. If that doesn't work, contact "". Best regards, Steven.
That was it, thanks. :)
So I started EWoM and was informed there was an update. So I clicked update. Sadly, star dock has been sitting there for a few minutes saying "preparing download" without any progress occurring(I have a cable connection). I tried exiting stardock, loading EWoM and clicked update. Stardock asked if I want to continue with a previous download(the update). I said yes, and I waited with no progress. Help?
Never played it, but from what I've heard it's GalCiv with bad tactical combat. You could try Distant Worlds, it's really been scratching the 4X empire building itch for me. Kind of hard to describe though, it's kind of like a good version of MOO3 with some Space Rangers thrown in.
Been thinking about it, ty for suggestion.
Check out my topic about ST: Birth of the Federation if you are looking for a empire building game. Plenty of micromanagement there And the battles are fun as well and easy to learn and play.
I posted there already. I've played it a lot. The memory leak causing time between turns to slow to a crawl ruins the game.
I enjoyed playing most races except the klingons. The problem is memory leaks. After a while the time between turns could get upwards to 3 mintues.
Has anyone played Armada 2526? Doesn't seem like there's a demo. It also seems like the game focuses on space combat. I'm looking for empire buidling more than battles in a game right now. Is my assumption correct?
We really don't need yet another thread on this. The additional article is a good find, though.
Haven't been keeping up with the forums except the dev journals. If it was posted there I must have missed it, appologies. I thought the news was very new being that the article was from yesterday(wednesday the 5th).

[
Storm isn't AoE - or if it is, then it's not the spell that the OP is actually referring to. I've found that spell mildly useful when I use intelligence as a dump stat for my sovereign but I somehow acquire a bunch of air shards. Since most other combat spells have damage based on int, storm is the only one that deals reasonable damage in that situation. So yeah, it's kinda crap, but there is an extremely narrow use for it.
First. The spell storm. It costs 27 mana and hits a single random unit for 5-8dmg +2 or there abouts. Why does it cost so much mana for being so poor? I realize some early spells are not as good as later spells, but it seems a bit much to cost 27 mana. Is this intentional? Second, conquered cities. Before the patching/changing of game mechanics towards 1.1 if you conquered a city it had all of the improvements still in it. I just conquered my first city(and the game crashed, damnit! <
I stopped playing for a while. Wanted to take a break from sending in beta bug reports and such and wasn't happy with the game as it was. its gotten a lot better and i can see all this good potential! Anyway, was wondering. I think it was like this before the patching towards 1.1, but can't be sure...in the early game the AI's diplomacy rating sky rockets. So I'm at strength of say...20 and they're 150. I very very rarely am able to create a non-agression treat except for maybe in the first 2
A while back I tried to find Master of Monsters II:Children(Disciples?) of Gaia(Old play station game). I couldn't find something I could work with. Could I get suggestions on where I could find it and how to get it to work via an emulator or something else using Windows 7?
ETA on 1.1 being out of Beta and ready for regular games?
