I am missing something...why do you keep regenerating the map? Have you finished a game already that you need to start again? Most of these 4x games take a while to complete, usually days. This looks like a major complaint so stardock will atleast release a bunch of seeded maps and that should be available in the next update. That will keep most people busy until the they get to looking a random map generator. I agree that a random map
I think people should at least do Stardock the courtesy of waiting until tomorrow and trying out the 1.1 release version before they start complaining. After all Stardock was nice enough to give us acces to the game a day early even though it's not the release build. Consider it a free preview to start learning about how the game works. I don't think it's fair to start judging based on a pre-release version.
I don't see a probl

Obviously, you haven't been paying attention to Elemental for the last year. Stardock has been anything BUT lazy. But they did push it out the door. The list of things that are MIA and coming later is surprisingly large.
As they have stated for quite
Oh you really added to the discussion. Well I disagree. They are all just trolling every thread posting negative replies in the GOOD ones some of us try to start. Why don't you just stop posting and maybe we can read what's important about the game. The GOOD stuff.
jreynol2 is correct in his assessment.
Now the game is released im seeing soooooo many idiots just complaining for the sake of complaining. For example i saw one guy, just a moment ago complain that he got a duplicate map. So what? Im sure if you randomise it again you will get a different one. Is it really worth coming here and complaining about it? Grow up i say.
You should probably educate yourself a bit before attacking, lest you become the same monster you seek to destro

While not a deal breaker, this is very disappointing. With the recent downtime, I had perused through many of the Elemental videos to review the past year. Completely random maps was a component that was mentioned and was a focus, and it feels a bit disingenuous (almost misleading) that it was not mentioned after beta and prior to release that they would not be making the final cut. To me, this is one of the singlemost imperative components of an empire-building turn-based s

I find the art style elegant and beautiful. I want something unique, and it has been provided. This is the kind of stuff I could easily hang on the walls in my home. I don't want photorealism. If I wanted that, I'd walk outside.

I don't think that Walmart employees would have the wherewithall to stop someone from buying the game.

My pleasure. Neverwinter Nights (I & II) really had legendary communicty contributions and support, from 3d modelling to scripting and everything in between. I am not sure what it would take to port everything from NWN to Elemental, but there is so much high quality stuff there, it's worth someone that is more knowledgeable than I am to investigate it. FYI, Raven, I would expect that type of community support for Elemental. There is a LOT of talent out there.&nbs

Does anyone know if there are any plans continuing in conjunction with Del Rey to produce a series based upon the Elemental universe?

When upgrading to the LE version, it will not let me check out, stating I must have the pre-requisite (Elemental Retail). I have already purchased this many months ago. Any assistance is welcomed. Thank you.

An on/off switch means that if you think it is a bad idea, you can turn it OFF. Novel concept, that. Give me micromanagement ability during other players turns and I'd be happy.

The idea of mini-games is fine, as long as it does not detract from the game. Something like hero professions and backgrounds in a "choose your own adventure" type of format would be awesome and would add a lot of flavor to the game. Nothing overly complicated, of course. Just enough to distract you and get you a bit emotionally invested in your heroes. Personally, it would be nice to be able to do the micromanagement part of the game during other player's turns and

Reply to Hexes in WOM Ideas

Debating about straight lines in a tile-based game is completely counter-productive. They are not designed to be, nor could they ever be, truly linear. It's the nature of the beast. To use this as a foundation of a debate between hex and square is completely pointless.

Interesting concept. I guess this model would work, but it could potentially be spammed as well. I think quite a bit of flavor could be added if the outposts/remote locations and/or governer had to be derived from the origin city. This would assure that the remote location would have a "vested interest" in producing for the city. In other words, my sovereign can't just go running around spamming outposts. I would need to create a settler type unit, an
