I was thinking that the enemies were going to get stronger over time, not in relation to my adventuring tech. Maybe it's not, but seems that as I focused on Adventuring, the world became a more dangerous place. Almost seems counter-intuitive in that I feel compelled to focus on military before adventuring otherwise I'm doomed to die a quick and painful death.
It really depends on your strategy. 5. " To put it another way, I never felt threatened in the early game, either by roving monsters or by other players." IIRC World difficulty decides how aggressive the roving bandits will be with attacking your cities. A lot depends on your location too; most of the monster spawns are in forests, so if you're in the middle of a plains area you won't see many. Also note that as you research up the adventure tree it causes higher level wandering parties to start spawning. 6. Yo
Should be fixed in tonights patch judging by the notes - tactical camera only moving when the unit is offscreen.
It seems a bit random. I bumped into Gilden who had three cities at one point (circa turn 2 - 300), and at the same time I've also had Krax never form a city, and just hang around my border trying to bum money off me like some sort of beggar.
I had the sovereign of Krax decide that rather than build a city, he'd just stand on my border for a few years issuing demands for money. Eventually he declared war, so I sent out my summoned bear who tore him to shreds. Cue "The Krax empire has fallen" message. Obviously the guy had a bit of an ego, declaring himself to be an empire.
1. Just move the whole stack into the other stack, they merge automatically 2. Ctrl + click works to select multiple units 3. Barring bonuses I'm not sure. Could be a bug, could be you're overlooking something (special equipment, training level?) 4. Gold mines. Build a city near them, get the guildar bonuses on level up and build all the market/bazaar buildings you can and it'll bring in plenty of cash 5. I suspect you can check it in the in-game encyclopedia</

It could also have been someone working at a store or the like too. But look on the bright side - pirated copy means no Impulse registration, so no Day 0 patch for them.
IIRC the catapult reduces the defence bonus troops would otherwise get if the city has defences. There are some abilities in the game, and I suspect more will be added over time. Unit mana increases on level up, so get that spider levelled up a couple of times and it might be able to start casting some more useful spells.
8) Child aging seems to be twice that of the parents. Not really a bug, just something I noticed. I think that's intentional so that you actually get the character to use within a reasonable amount of time.

(they seem to miss a lot in combat). Does designing a unit make them stronger?
Nope, apart from peasants (who get a hitpoint bonus) there's no difference between the predesigned units and a designed unit that I'm aware of, their stats are all down to the equipment. You can buy (or find) healing potions and similar from the town stores which will replenish some hitpoints when you use them - the meat (h
The borders adjust according to prestige. If the enemy town has more prestige than you their border will start pushing yours, and vice versa. Improvements will switch controllers depending on whose border they're in. If you want the oasis back research civics and start building town halls, pubs and similar prestige generating buildings. Alternatively, train an army and go raze the enemy city, whichever you prefer ;)
If you're doing separate attacks you could just apply a penalty to defence for each subsequent attack. Say - 10%, so against a party the first soldiers attack is rolling against the hero's full defence, and the final attack is at 70% of the heroes defence. A high level hero could probably still take on a party or small group without breaking a sweat, but when facing off against a virtual army some damage is going to get through. As a side effect, it would also make grou
It's not been too bad an adjustment for me to be honest, but then I remembered seeing the resource building change mentioned in one of the dev journals :P For the most part the only real issue for me at the moment is the polish, but I don't really mind a little roughness around the edges. There's room for improvement of course, but then there's always room for improvement.
I remember reading something about merchants and nobles needing to be inside a city in order to contribute their bonus. You should see a greyed out button on the pioneer even if you can't build, are you sure it was a pioneer? Food is only necessary to build houses and thus level up the cities. Founding them requires only gold, but gets progressively more expensive for each city founded (although IIRC Pariden get a discount on this).
